Rioting erupts in Moscow after killing blamed on migrant

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Rioters smashed shop windows, stormed a warehouse and clashed with police in a Moscow neighborhood on Sunday in the biggest outbreak of anti-migrant unrest in the Russian capital in three years.


Demonstrators, some chanting racist slogans, vandalized shops and other sites known for employing migrant workers in the southern Biryulyovo area after the killing of a young ethnic Russian widely blamed on a man from the Caucasus.


Several hundred residents had protested peacefully, demanding justice over the killing, until a group of young men began smashing windows in a shopping center and briefly set it on fire. A video posted on Youtube showed them chanting "White Power!" as they forced their way in.

We do have riots in certain specific neighborhoods, but the rioters always tend to make sure the McDonald's are not put out of commission.

Yea but they are rare as hell, as are protests by ordinary people... American's tend to bitch about a lot of things, but never really do anything about it.. relative to their European cousins.

Well, ethnicity is not the same as nationality (citizenship). And the motive of the riot was that a non-russian ethnic person murdered an ethnic russian.

And on this particular occasion, some people decided to be stupid and riot about it.

As a general idea, ethnicity matters. But it's not the end all be all of things that matter and to go rioting for it means that it matters waaay more than reasonably acceptable.
 
Yes, white race at its finest. There were threads about how well one thinks of their race. It is these occasions that causes one to not think highly of their race. Freaking white monkeys yelling "White Supremacy" against the offender whom is Caucasian.

Whites against other whites at extremes throughout the many wars in Europe and Russia. Nothing to be prouder more!

Through history some Whites have always thought that they were a little Whiter than the other Whites, until they got their ass whipped.

Then they calmed down - For a while.

Looks like it might be getting close to time to open up a can of Whip -Ass!

Oh, they don't see things that way. You may live in Russia all your life, you may have ten generations of ancestors on Russian soil - you are still a Tatar, a Jew, a Pole...Ethnicity is everything. In this case, the suspected murderer is supposedly a "Caucasian", i.e. belongs to one of the ethnic groups originating from the Caucus Mountains region - maybe a Chechen or an Ossetian.

I don't understand your position.
But this is false and stupid and sounds kind of racist.
This is semi-true but you aren't dealing with the creme de la creme here. just a bunch of drunks who decided to go on a riot and used the proxima excuse they could find. Not so different than the islamic riots in Paris in 2005 and the ones in London a few years back and Stockholm in the last year.

Of course! Never happens. All we Americans ever do is sit on a couch with a hamburger and watch hamburger commercials. And an occasional couch commercial.

As for riots....April 29, 1992, Los Angeles: one of worst days in modern American history. And then it got worse. Ask any American Korean, what does "four-twenty nine" stand for.

A lot of Europeans pay lip service to that type of statement. All Europeans are Europeans and all. Then they get all hot under the collar, because a court rules that a migrant Romanian family can have social support above basic living (Hartz4) in Gelsenkirchen. Suddenly the difference is defining and important. Then they hate it.

I know.. but the point is, this is Russian on Russian hatred, not Russian vs immigrant hatred, which some people (not so far as I can see on these boards) have claimed it is.
