I love how you start off the paragraph stating that you don't speak for independents......and then continue to speak for them (well apparently "not all" just excepting "a few"!). You see, I think you missed your point.....you don't speak for them....not even in the casual self denying manner you continue doing.
And this self denied but continuing "I don't speak for all independents, but here is what they think" delusion continues...amazing!
Oh yes...I understand that your delusional belief that you have the pulse of independents in the US continues unabated, without seeing any of it hypocrisy or irony.
Not only that, but the 2 points I made, that you completely glossed over your statistical misrepresentations (177%!!!) and you failed to address how the POTUS is supposedly "messing with the lives of independents"....by fighting for HI access....which I am sure a number of them want and need....but then perhaps I am in error to speak....for that minority.
Sigh, carry on. You talk a lot....I just hoped you were going to say something.
I have made it a habit of studying independents for the last 20 plus years. After all we all know how Republicans and Democrats will vote whose side of an issue they will take. Now indpendents can be all over the place and they switch sides, going from one party to the other and sometimes back again. For a lot of my information I rely on polls, there is a ton of information insides these polls if one is brave enough to do a little research. But as I said that is my hobby.
On the ACA, RCP has the average of 6 polls and you can check it out, it is 38.3 in favor, 48.8 against. But this is for all Americans, Republicans, Democrats and Independents. SO how do independents really feel about the ACA, I went inside the polls so kindly provided by RCP,. They hold a wealth of information if one is politically inclined and doesn't just take what the RNC or the DNC as gospel. Here are 3 questions and answers in one of those polls about the ACA broken down by party plus Independents.
Health care: Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing on this issue?
Approve Dem 79% Rep 12% Ind 36%
Disapprove Dem 18% Rep 85% Ind 57%
Don't know Dem 3% Rep 3% Ind 7%
Which one of the following comes closest to what you would like to see lawmakers do with the new health care law -- would you like lawmakers to repeal the law entirely, repeal parts of the law, expand the law, or leave it as is?
Repeal it entirely Dem 8% Rep 53% Ind 30%
Repeal parts of the law Den 20% Rep 26% Ind 30%
Expand it Dem 24% Rep 6% Ind 16%
Leave it as is Dem 45% Rep 11% Ind
(Don't know) Dem 4% Rep 4% Ind7%
Which do you think would be better for you and your family -- the new health care system or the system that was in place before the new health care law?
The new health care system Dem 60% Rep 12% Ind 34%
System that was in place Dem 27% Rep 80% Ind 48%
(Don't know) Dem 13% Rep 8% Ind 18%
Now you can look at the number and I am pretty sure you can decide how independents view the ACA as of the date of the poll which was 7 Oct 2013.
Now there are around 40 questions they asked concerning who is to blame for the shut down, Presidents Obama approval rating, how do you view Boehner, Cruz, Reid, both political parties, even on baseball and football. So I look at the inside of these polls and I can be fairly certain to with a plus or minus of 3 points, the polls error margin on how independents view all these different subject. You can or could do the same instead of just spouting opinions. Rack me over the coals if that makes you feel good, I don't mind. But I do know in my mind that be researching and going inside all these different polls one can get a pretty good feel as to where independents stand on any given subject. Being there are six such polls, I feel confident in saying the majority of independents are against the ACA as you can easily see or perhaps determine from the polling results.
Yes all 177% of me.
