Republicans Lose Ground vs. Obama in the Shutdown Blame Game

Such is leadership, I ran a 200 million dollar a year business taking over from another person. I inherited everything that he did including his numbers. It was my responsibility to accept those numbers and make the better. Every leader inherits something from his/her predecessor and what they do with it determines success or failure. I would have loved to inherit the numbers Bush left but I would have made the better not worse like Obama did but I guess that is the difference between a leader and someone like Obama who has zero leadership skills.

You're a ****ing idiot.

Too bad he wasn't elected President, he certainly beats the street thug from Chicago.

If he was elected, the American people what have to live through a second GOP great recession. We cannot afford to go back to the same failed bush policies that created the Bushian great recession in the first place.

It did take 12 years to recover from the Great Depression. While I don't think it will take that long to recover from the recession, it could if the teaparty is as determined as they've shown to sabotage the economy.

A 1988 dollar is equivalent to $1.98 in 2013.

That means Reagan's increase in debt would be equivalent to $3,335,000,000,000. You are right. Reagan did a swell job standing behind his conservative principles after all. I stand corrected.

vasuderatorrent

It's different when Reagan, Bush and Bush do it. It's only bad when it's a Democrat in office.

You're a ****ing idiot.

What a brilliant response and exactly what I would have expected from a so called progressive. You have no idea what I was saying or meant because you are incapable of thinking at all. Thanks for the personal attack and for those that supported that attack. Shows exactly what kind of people we deal with here daily.

Seems we are living through the second Obama recession. Romney would have had to clean up the Obama mess. Total ignorance is indeed a trait of the left.

Tell us exactly what Obama has done to lead us out of that recession? You bought the liberal spin, the 81-82 recession was much worse than this one but you wouldn't understand that because you are incapable of doing any research at all so you buy what you are told. Leadership was lacking in this one and the results show it.

Project much? Debt that exceeds 100% of GDP is a disaster. Obama has almost created more debt than Reagan, Bush, and Bush combined.

So Reagan wasn't responsible for his Presidency, either? I'm starting to notice a trend, here.

I have seen a trend from liberals for a long time, total ignorance and lack of understanding of how to do research so rather than learn how to research a liberal buys what they are told.

This may make your brain hurt so I'll go slow. I'm not even sure why I'm doing this because you are unlikey to actually read it.

CBO's job is to look at the current law and project what the law will cost. So, in 2009 the CBO sat down and said. We expect that result of the policies in place now will generate a 1.2 Trillion dollar deficit. That is the very definition of inhereted. Not that facts matter to you.

I still don't get it. I'd be pretty ashamed if I was caught saying that Bush's recession was Clintons fault but Obama's first deficit was 100% his. Do you even care about being right? I guess that's the difference between us. I strive to be pragmatic, intellecutally honest, and follow the truth wherever it may lead. You spout whatever some tea party talk show host told you to spout.

Froth away, just don't share your koolaide...

How you coming on finding out what made up that 1.2 trillion dollar PROJECTED deficit the CBO claims Bush would leave Obama? Did you find out whether or not TARP was included in that projection? Was TARP a loan or an expense? What were the actual Obama expenditures in 2009 and why would those be charged to Bush. I would be very much ashamed if I spent most of my life blaming someone else for my own personal failures. Fortunately I understand leadership which apparently you don't. I would have relished the challenge of inheriting the Bush results and turning them around rather than making them worse. What a hero I would have become as I would have implemented a pro growth economic policy that created new taxpayers and would have cut the Federal budget by a minimum of 20% bringing them back to the pre recession levels. Imagine what the economy would look like today?

Always love someone like yourself whining about personal attacks while you yourself are personally attacking someone. Just another reason why your hypocrisy knows no bounds Con.

Sometimes people forget that when they insult their opponent they still have an obligation to defend their position. Admitting defeat should sound more like this, "you could be right." Often it comes out like this, "You're a ***ing idiot."

I bolded your personal attack. Yes, that was a personal attack. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds Con.

Not as a percentage of debt growth. No one tops Reagan, and Bush did his in an economic upturn, which he turned into a financial meltdown of catastrophic proportions.

That's funny, because the majority of Tea Partiers think Fox News and AM Talk Radio are good sources of information, and colleges and universities are bad sources of information. What did you say about "projecting", again? Because I think there might be a pretty good recursive joke built into it.

LOL, is that liberal logic. Bet you are more excited over a $100 pay increase on your $1000 paycheck than you would be on a $125 increase on a 1500 paycheck because the percentage change is greater on the $100 pay increase? Wow! Do you realize how foolish your statement sounds? Keep blaming Bush for the Obama failures, nice diversion and distortion. You actually believe 1.7 trillion added to the debt in 8 years is worse than 6.4 trillion in 5? You think adding 4.9 trillion, Bush numbers, in 8 years is worse than 6.4 trillion in 5? Your college professor is going to be really disappointed in you.

The T.E.A. Party should scare the hell out of you as they are real patriots and tired of people like you being the takers and requiring higher taxes on those evil rich people. You just don't have a clue because actual results don't matter.

If you are speaking of George W. Bush, then you are wrong. The US was in a recession barely 2 months into his Presidency when it was still running on Clinton programs and policies. He inherited the dot.com downturn, not an upturn as you allege.

You're a ****ing idiot.

I guess he likes a challenge. Not too many would say they would like to have inherited the collapsing economy Bush left when he left office.

Liberals will never get it, personally I love the challenge and that was the point. All Obama and his supporters have done is blame Bush and actually made things worse but then results don't matter to you

All Obama and his supporters have done is blame Bush

It's really funny that you keep repeating this, and at the same time blame Democrats for both Bush and Reagan's disasters. And, on top of that, you think other people are the ones projecting.

Blaming Bush and Reagan today is what liberals do to divert from the disaster we have in the WH. Nothing I say, no data I post is ever going to change your mind. You cannot change the past but you can influence the future and Obama is the future. Other people are just like you, diverting and distorting. Tell me exactly what economic prediction Obama has made that has been accurate? You have way too much invested in misinformation and hatred for Bush without even knowing what went on during the Bush term. The fact is it doesn't matter now. What matters is we have an incompetent in the WH and what is scary is that you are too blind to see it.
