Republicans Lose Ground vs. Obama in the Shutdown Blame Game - ABC News

At this point I'm pretty puzzled. You really have to question the logic behind the GOP's behavior. They're taking damage all for nothing. What could they possibly get out of this? The only positive I see so far is they have riled up their ever shrinking base of extremists, everyone else is shaking their head. Obama can't negotiate anything or else he'd be legitimizing the GOP's hostage tactics, it would be a terrible blunder.

The only possible outcome I see is for Boehner to throw in the towel and for the GOP to walk away in shame. Should be interesting to see how this plays out. I fear something nasty and unexpected is going to happen.
well just addressing the ownership issue and blame game alone, the GOP never had any ground. "THIS" shut down/issue is thiers, there was an agreed deal on the table and they pulled it in hopes of a power mover. Nobody honest and objective denies this and denies that "THIS" issues is thiers

now with that being said "government" also shares some blame both sides and the DEMS have done this same move on other things also.

SO while THIS thing is the GOPs fault, pointing that out and acting like it extends anywhere beyond this one thing or that others havent tried similar things is nonsensical.

I'll let your posts speak for themselves. You resort to spin, justification and rationalization any time the facts don't support your agenda. You cannot help but try to rationalize any of your heroes failures. Sorry, but Texas record on low paying, no benefit jobs speaks for itself. Face it....Texas is a sell out and the people are paying.

Not bad, I got most of my Honey do's out of the way. But I am babysitting a couple of grand kids, so I will come and go depending on how much trouble I have to keep them out of.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

And you post to those ignorant enough to buy your rhetoric. You make wild claims never back them up, never apologize when proven wrong and expect to be taken seriously? Liberals aren't serious people, they really are a joke.

It's also a stronghold of "grassroots conservatism." Elsewhere in the country, GOP moderates (1) are losing their attractiveness to independents and centrists, thus setting up their Democratic opponents for electoral victories and (2) going to lose their running tickets to Tea Party candidates who can't win in swing districts with large numbers of independents and centrists, thus setting up their Democratic opponents for electoral victories. To put it another way, the GOP is in peril in those districts that are most reflective of the national demographics -- some of which exist, and some of which they currently hold.

That is pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point, the only question remains is whether the GOP will win the war of attrition to save their House Majority. But they are going to lose seats.
