Yes teen pregnancies have declined but that is irrelevant to this study as those dying earlier today were teenage dropouts decades ago. But I have to disagree with you on teen pregnancies because even though they have declined they are still one of the number one reasons for females dropping out of high school.Drop Out Rates Among Pregnant Teens - Teen Pregnancy Statistics
Today the shocking facts are that 50% of all births are being born to unwed mothers and the majority of these women are in their twenties.

What does that tell you Roguenuke?
Has the big push in billions of taxpayer dollars in sex education for birth control and practicing safe sex worked?
With all the different means of birth control readily available why is it that so many women in their twenties can't remember to take their pill or use countless other means of birth control ?

The number one drag on the welfare system are single moms. They make up the majority of those we claim as living in poverty.

Did they believe the big lie that a woman doesn't need a man and can do it all on her own successfully? Or is it she isn't responsible because the federal government allows her to be irresponsible with the many programs it provides for the single mother. So much today that all the funding she receives amounts to more than a couple both working at median income with children.

Either she is very stupid or very sly and found a way for the government to take over where her parents left off.

Ironic, when Roe v Wade was passed only 10% of births were out of wedlock. Today 50%.

Women do more, even if both them and their husbands/boyfriends are working the same amount.

That is the UK. What are the statistics in the US? Also, if the men are leading a more sedentary lifestyle in the UK than the women I would assume that they are less inclined to live long. Is there even a shrinking longevity gap in the UK between men and women?

The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

And in other news, the American Lung Association has officially declared that air pollution is good for you.

I agree with the exception of the bolded part. I am not so sure women of today work more hours and todays work is definitely easier. The place of work has simply changed from one of home to a place of employment.

I feel the largest reason are probably as you said diet and obesity but I believe lack of physical work probably plays a large role. Women 100 years ago for example had a lot more physical activity in their daily routine. Washing cloths by hand, washing dishes by hand, no electric vacuums (unless wealthy), they didnt have ready made meals to simply pop in the over/mocrowave. Now many women have desk or light physical activity jobs and once they get home they have all the modern appliances to remove much of the physical effort they once had to do.

Actually, it does tell me that the money spent on sex is doing quite well. Nothing is perfect, but since we see that there is a significant reduction in teen pregnancies, and many more teen moms are staying in school now, rather than dropping out to get married or go have the baby then give it up for adoption in secret, I'd say the programs are working. In fact, from the stats I've seen, the places with the highest rate of teen pregnancy and subsequently teenage mother dropouts is those places that do not have comprehensive sex education programs in place, but rather abstinence-focused/-only programs in place.

It is the same in the US. Women do more housework than their male partners.

But, apparently if a man is employed in a job that is more often dominated by women (nurse, teacher, childcare), he is more likely to do more of the household chores.
