Its their fault that they put the man in a position where not taking that responsibility is an option.

As I looked at the map, those who have strong pro-life beliefs are where the decrease in life expectancy occur. Where abortions are frequently used as a means of birth control such as the Northeast, Southwest, it is less of an issue. Even in these areas you find southern Oregon and the northern part of California tend to be very pro-life and the risk is highest in this area. But around Portland where it is very liberal as well as the rest of California it's not.
I don't know. Teen pregnancy is at the lowest its been since the 1940s. There really aren't as many teens getting pregnant, not even counting abortions.

I would have thought you were aware that even married women end up divorced through no fault of thier own.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

*sigh* - no kidding. I'm getting ready, right now, to walk outside and find the compressor to pump up my van tires - while my husband takes a nap on the couch.

LOL The irony. I took a nap last night and dinner burned. LOL

Men, on the other hand, are living a little longer, and the difference between male and female life spans is decreasing. American men's longevity was about 7.8 years shorter than women's in 1972 but the difference dropped to 5 years in 2005. Perhaps women pay a price when they take on the roles traditionally assigned to men, especially the role of sole breadwinner.

Really, because they are fat? Not because they aren't religious? I dunno seems like a fishy answer to me, didn't Noah live to be like 900? Its right there in the Bible.

While I do agree that people should strive to stop smoking, I can't see smoking as really playing a major role here. The amount of smokers has been going down pretty steadily for the last 50 years or more and women have always been less likely to smoke than men.

CDC - Trends in Current Cigarette Smoking - Smoking & Tobacco Use

And the drinking trend has stayed pretty constant as well (although it did go up slightly in the early 2000s).

CDC - Data, Trends, and Maps - Alcohol

Now, I do think a more sedentary lifestyle, not getting enough exercise, eating horribly, and having more stress definitely plays a key role here.

I stay at home, so doing most of the housework for me is expected and fair. But I do get a little annoyed when the only time I work, one weekend a month, I still end up also having to cook dinner 90% of the time, while my husband is also off those days.

Mmhmm! Every now and then I take a break - whether they like it or not.

The sound of the compressor woke my husband up, he walked outside and said "did you check to see what PSI it is?"

    "Yeah, it said 60!"

    - It was funny as hell until he realized I was kidding.

The authors are just using a few statistics to support their view on Obamacare via this article, actually. Nothing more, nothing less. You don't see this as a political hackjob article?

    Go to a different one:

Here's the actual study results - rather than seeing it through a politically biased filter:
    http://www.cdc.gov/pcd/issues/2012/11_0120.htm

. . . just a different bit of food for thought.
