Give me $10,000. No? OK, give me $5,000. No? How about $1,000?

I'm negotiating. Why aren't you compromising on this? I started at $10,000 and now I'm only asking for $1,000 man. I'm compromising.

Ok, so you and other liberal progressives want to mischaeacterize what is going on now, got it. Never expect a liberal to be honest or truthful. But, just you remember all of this, and try not to cry like a baby when we use these political tactics against you.

Perhaps I missed it but can you substantiate these '161 Republican-sponsored amendments'? I AM aware of 101 that were rejected:

Ironic, isn't it? And they have the temerity to try to claim Obamacare is somehow a Republican program.

Yep. LOL. Imagine that. The House passes a bill then it goes to the Senate. That's been done for a very long time.
The Senate considers it, votes yes or no and if no, it goes to committee. That's been done for a very long time. But the Democrats this time decide to change the way the game has been played and partially shut the government down as a result.

They had two damn years to think of something besides "repeal the law".
And yet Immigration law is ignored and that's ok. And Democrats push for amnesty to circumvent years of breaking the law, and that's ok too. But God forbid the Republicans ask for the same.

My dad ran his info and I ran mine..just for giggles.

If I went through the exchange I'd pay almost 2x as much as if I went through a privater insurer outside of the exchange website. For my dad, it was closer to 4x more expensive. I don't qualify for subsidies, and neither does he. What's the point of using the exchange at all if it's cheaper to go outside of it? Most of my friends have run into the same thing.

The government is shut down because it is disfunctional, IMO. I believe the last time a budget was passed was in the last year of Bush's term. The only budget BHO has offered since was voted down unanimously in both the House and Senate, because it spent too many new trillions of dollars and was considered a joke. This ironically is probably the last bi-partisan thing this adninistration has accomplished!

That's not offering anything, that's demanding less. What do Democrats get in this supposed compromise?

Are you sure you're comparing equivalent plans? There's a lot of stuff kicking in in 2014 like you can't have annual or lifetime limits anymore, the exchange plans have a minimum set of services they must cover, etc.

If you get an equivalent health care plan for 1/4 the price off of the exchange, by all means look into it. However, if the local car dealership is offering a new Civic for $18,000 and some other dealership is offering a new two-door coupe for $4500, I'm going to raise an eyebrow and wonder what the **** is wrong with that second car.
