There are things your state government is empowered to force you to do. The same thing extends to your local government.

Some of those things you've listed are fictional, but of the ones that aren't, the state or local governments are the ones empowered to "force" you to do them, not the federal government. The federal government is not empowered to force you to buy healthcare. They are empowered to tax you and that is how they got this past the SCOTUS.
going with your last line, correct, the scotus found it LEGAL.....regardless, it proves my point, that all levels of government can force you to do things....repubs need to get over this, send the senate a clean spending bill, and get the government open again. obama ran on healthcare, won twice, had the health care plan upheld by the scotus. the people have spoken via the elections. time for repubs to move on.

This may be the most cynical of liberal progressive lies to the American people...Do you libs really think that we are so short sighted that we don't remember a year ago? Obama didn't run on HC, he ran from it...Every thing they were touting was 'jobs', and 'renewable energy', and the oldie but goodie, 'Bin Laden is dead, but GM is alive'....

Although HC was in the party platform for the convention, and Obama used it as an outright lie as to what it actually is, it is just not honest to say with a straight face that Obama centered his campaign around the ACA....That is a lie.
Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

Because the ACA, unlike any other major social legislation of the last century, was passed on a straight party line vote, it remains fair game for political challenge. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the Civil Rights Act all passed with significant bipartisan support. That's why they are "settled" and the ACA is not.

but they had the votes, and it is law....the repubs had plenty of chances to have input on the final product, but chose to whine and beyatch and just vote no. failure of leadership on republican part.

Your list of things we're forced to do was a list of things we aren't forced to do. I can't really elaborate more than that.

Repubs were effectively shut out. Regardless, as a simple matter of political mechanics, the fact that it was enacted on a party line vote means it will remain an active political issue indefinitely. Wiser leadership in the past actively engaged the minority specifically to avoid this outcome.

Let us know how Obamacare is going to work out for you since I am sure as a union employee and one of Obama's biggest supporters that you are willingly accepting his signature legislation and not supporting your union in opting out

depends on you definition of shut out i suppose....they knew it was going to become law, and really offered nothing to improve it.

i accept this legislation as i believe it is a big step in the right direction, and i would have supported it regardless if i were a member of a union....being as you like to try and troll me on my union membership, that will be the extent of my response.... i believe ACA to be good for the country as a whole.
