Obama Address the Nation on the government shutdown.

and the democrats in the "peoples house" can end this shutdown without having to touch the affordable care act. ever hear of a discharge petition?

Yes, that's why Discharge Petitions are used frequently...

Yeah, great, bring it to a vote. Let's see how the "People's House" votes. Do you even know why the govt. is being shutdown? Do you even have a clue as to what is going on in DC or are you simply someone who buys everything you are told by the left?

Aw, yes, the old GW Bush diversion all because you cannot defend the Obama record. Still waiting for the data to warrant that support but doubt I will ever see it from you. You know so little and yet spend so much time here posting partisan bs. It is interesting that the "People's House" doesn't reflect your view that the Republicans are being destroyed. You buy the spin of the left and never look at the big picture. Pretty simple question, are the majority of the Congressional Districts in this country represented by Democrats? If not then the insignificant party is the Democrat Party.
Not a diversion....just pointing out why no one can take you seriously. You believe that 911 occurred on Clinton's watch, GWB captured and killed Bin Laden and led the US to economic utopia. Why would you expect anyone to take you serious on anything?
Do you know how many more people voted for Democrats in the last election than Republicans for Congress? You should educate yourself before you start trying to spout off about who really represents the views of most Americans. But as I said Con....I hope that the GOP continues in your vein.....I would love to see the GOP pushed even further towards extinction.

all it would take is 218 votes, a absolute majority of house members, to pass something via a discharge petition. democrat's are all united, so all it would take is 18 republican congressmen to sign onto the pettion and vote on a clean continuing resolution bill that funds the government.

LOL....sorry if I give your "criticisms" the level of respect that they deserve. Anyone who has been on this site long enough knows that you are a GOP apologist to the extreme and still believe that GWB led this country to economic Utopia....so you don't need to convince us of that any longer.
BTW....the vast majority of Republicans are NOT teabaggers.....unfortunately, they don't have the backbone to stand up to the teabaggers that have highjacked their party. It is an interesting situation though....many have forecasted the impending Republican civil war, although not many thought it would manifest itself this soon. The reasonable Republicans need to decide once and for all whether they are going to take back their party from the wacko teabag extremists...or whether they are going to continue to cave in. I for one, hope that they continue to cave in, because it will spell destruction of the GOP as a national party which is good news for liberals, democrats, moderates and independents. As long as the GOP is not a viable alternative party, it is good news for the country...and the Teabaggers are helping us reach that goal.

Don't know where you get your information but it does seem that you don't understand Congressional Districts nor the fact that the majority in this country remain conservative.

18 Repubs would leave you a bit short of passage...

Yes, that is what it takes to get legislation passed in the Republican controlled House. Why would the Democrats be so united behind a bill that has so many exemptions and is so unpopular in the nation? How many Republicans are there in the House today?

Here is exactly why we have three more years of this empty suit incompetent. Many here can be defined as Obamabots

Urban Dictionary: Obamabot

Obambot:

A person who supports Obama and is willing to vote for him but doesn't know a thing about him.

It's just a label for someone who doesn't know anything about Obama.

You call them a Obamabot because they just spew out their support but have nothing else to show.

I think the point is the GOP needs to be honest. The GOP says they want to delay it so it can be better implemented. This is a lie and you know it, they want it delayed so they have a better chance to kill it.

While I don't agree with the ACA, I don't think the GOP lying about their intentions is any better.

The Republicans aren't trying to kill Obamacare any more than the Democrats want to take away guns.

democrats care more about ending this government shutdown. there are roughly 200 democrats in the house of Representatives, and they have been so far united. all it would take for a successful discharge petition is for 18 or more republicans to break ranks with their party, sign the petition, and vote for a clean bill that funds the government.

It would only take six Senators to break ranks with Harry to support House legislation...

The Dems had two chances already to end it. They showed no interest at ending what they caused.

With two vacancies, I believe there are 217 Republicans in the House today.

Who knows why the Dems are behind Obamacare? Your guess is as good as mine. Are they expecting an exemption?

Greetings, Conservative. :2wave:

My bet is if you get that number then those seats are vulnerable in 2014. What you don't seem to understand is that it is the President who gave exemptions and isn't negotiating with the "People's House"

Actually, they had three or four...

and the reason they rejected it because they are tired of negotiating over something that has been attempted 40 times prior.

40 differant votes at stopping, derailing, sabotaging, defunding, repealing, or out right destroying the affordable care act.

Why is it that the Affordable care act has to be destroyed? Is it because conservative fundamentally oppose any government involvement in healthcare?

Because those that it is intended to help cannot afford it...

LOL....the majority of the people of this country are "conservative"....sorry Charlie....wrong again. Most people in this country are moderate...which is why the teabaggers pushing the GOP to the extreme right spells the death of the GOP.

BTW....you do realize....at least I hope....that the red areas on the maps you posted represent by and large the areas of the country were the population is low. Why don't you look at actual numbers of people voting which is a more accurate indicator of the electorate. Over 1 million more people voted for democrats in congress during the last election than republicans....oops...I know why you tried to post irrelevant maps rather than numbers....its because the numbers don't match your rhetoric. Doh!

or maybe they are eager to ask questions and find answers about the exchange

I asked you this on another thread, but haven't received a reply, so I''ll ask you here...

Okay, let's discuss substance instead of ideology. If individuals need subsidies to purchase mandated government insurance, how will he/she ever be able to afford the co-pays much less the deductibles?

Negotiating what exactly to fund the government only if AHA is repealed or defunded how is that something to negotiate on! To pay the money already aproved by congress. You truely are a f'in idiot.
