Ted Cruz launches faux filibuster as Senate readies spending bill vote

The "left-wing bias and buffoonery," in the Krugman citation, was regarding a supposed lie attributed to the Democrats. Left-wing bias, indeed.

Politifact isn't perfect; I never said it was. But are you going to bother to address the contents of the article I posted, or play petty little ad hom games?

It's not even remotely a credible source

The fact that you are desperately clinging to it like a life raft speaks volumes

Okay, buddy.

I'll take it the answer to my question is the latter. Cool beans.

you have yet to disproove anything in the article that made you reject the argument.

Of course I did

Here, I'll disprove another one

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/17/opinion/health-care-reform-beyond-obamacare.html

WE need death panels.

Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget

Even Howard Dean disagrees with Politifact, calls IPAB a "rationing body"

It's not my problem you rely on Politifact to get informed. That's your problem.

Any guesses on how long Ted will last?

He will last till he is not allowed to talk any longer which is 12:00 noon tomorrow. I just wished he would use some of this time to expose those within his own party who are as he put it " are more interested in being invited to the next cocktail party in Washington than caring about the real concerns of their constituents" .

PolitiFact Lie of the Year is true

Just one example of many. Even Huffpo reported a different Politifact "Lie of the Year" that turned out to be true.

Politifact Has Decided That A Totally True Thing Is The "Lie Of The Year," For Some Reason

Even Paul Krugman says Politfact are buffoons

Their left wing bias and buffonery is well documented. Only people who want to be lied to still rely on Politi"fact" for actual facts

From Politifact link:

Says Barack Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" at the cost of American jobs.

If that's a lie, then how much did Obama get for Chrysler, having sold it to the Italians? How did he manage to sell what wasn't his? You'd think that such a sale of someone else's property would be the scandal of the year.

'Ya know, when Mitch McConnell, and even the Wall Street Journal, trashes Cruz, then you know him for the extremist he really is. Here is a clip of other Republicans trashing Cruz. Enjoy!!

Look at the end of the Clip. Even Bill O'Reilly is trashing Cruz. LOL.

Sequestration was Obamas solution. A poor decision many would say.

Sequestration, its literal form, was the idea that 12 guys, separated (sequestered) from congress could hammer out a workable budget deal or ELSE. The Else was draconian cuts that would be so painful, so abhorrent (a poison) to each side that the 12 would get the job done. It banked on the rationality of the players that they would get the job done or both lose. The calculation error was banking on the rationality of the players. No one factored in that the tea-baggers would actually think the poison-laced kool-aid was a sweet thrist-quencher.

NO ONE in their right mind * actually thought that the team would opt for the poison.

Then the sequestration cuts happened and no one felt the pain (until planes were delayed, and they suddenly there was money)... but the whole idea of rapid implementation of deep cuts is a kin to an airline cutting its maintenance department to save money.... in the short-run, it works great.....

You post some coverage from MSMBC and call that legitamate? Seriously? And you call yourself a conservative? Seriously?

And every last one of those coming out against Cruz are from left to center jurisdictions. Hell ,O'reilly isn't even a Republican for crying out loud.

Go ahead and mock him. He has more balls than you or any of those who continue to support the failing policies and insist on reforming them within the same.

Yet you are the biggest yahoos that will complain the loudest when your tactics go nowhere because you prove yourselves to be no better than your opposition. You stand for nothing and fall for anything.

I guess you didn't see the whole clip before you started calling people names, did you? There was some CNN on there, and yes, at the end, there is that Liberal bastion, FOX News, trashing Cruz.

Give it a rest, and try to come up with something original, for a change.

That's the rules, he gets to 12:00 noon tomorrow, not until he can't stand anymore?

I think he can do some procedural stuff that can delay it til the weekend, but if he does that, he really puts the House in a bind to get the bill passed.

So if he goes past noon tomorrow, he's actively screwing his own party, instead of just looking like an idiot.

Oh Montecresto, he could stand a lot longer but "Senate rules" won't allow him. He is getting a lot of heat from the Republicans who have lost their way. But thank goodness there are still those who are willing to stand up for what is just, right, and constitutional. And like always that comes with a price. No different when the Founders bucked the system. All of them they either lost their wealth/livelihood and sometimes their lives/ their children's lives to stand up to the principles in which they strongly held. I have often heard for the most part there are air-heads and assholes that pretty much create what we have to abide to. And there doesn't seem to be a shortage of air-heads or assholes in the Republican party.

The more Cruz and Lee talk about Neville Chaimberlain being an appeaser, the better.

The knock-down, dragged-out, no holds barred filibuster the we were promised turned out to be a pansy-assed 1-hour quip that quickly fell victim to Godwin's Law.

So, when I heard the bell, it wasn't an angel earning its wings, but Ted Cruz earning his nose

CruzClown.jpg

It appears that Ted Cruz stock fell faster today than Enron's during a Ken Lay motivation speech..... Ted Cruz is rapidly become as irrelevant as Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman or Rick Perry,

Sequestration was Obamas solution. A poor decision many would say.

The sequester was not a solution, it was a poison pill meant to prod the do nothing Congress to make an agreement on the budget cuts. It had something each side should have hated but even the huge defense cuts could not move the House to do anything but sit by and watch it happen.

No sugar booger I won't give it a rest. The man is beholding to his constituents to do everything he said he could do within his power to overturn Obamacare. If the rest of us had a senator that took his role as Cruz does, we wouldn't be in this feckless mess we are today.

The man has delivered what he said he would do. You don't like it? Tough. A lot of us see the character in Cruz we would only hope for in our own representation even when it isn't political correct.

Just because someone is a character doesn't mean they have character.

What do you mean "if that's true"?

It absolutely is true that Politifact LIED. The Reuters article and many others prove it.

More reading and less Obama worship. You might actually learn something.

You want a party that rails and protests and does pointless acts that change nothing , like Cruz's totally fake, attention whoring "filibuster"?

Hope you enjoy looking at things from the back, because you are destined to be a rump party for a long, long time with that thinking.

Sorry, not to rehash the 2012 campaign, but to straighten you out.... Romney did state that Jeep was moving "ALL production to China" AND imply in ads that Jeeps being built in China were at a cost of American jobs in Toledo. It was a lie.

Romney Radio Ad on Jeeps and China in Toledo, OH - YouTube
Romney Lies About Jeep - YouTube or whole speech, with critical words at 10:36 Mitt Romney Speech in Defiance, Ohio - 10/25/12 - YouTube

Yes, the actual TV you showed was correct; its just the issues above the preceded it that set the stage for appearing that it was perpetuating an actual lie.

without even watching thew video, the picture shows karl rove, right there that shows me the republican establishment doesnt like cruz, nor do rinos and neocons like rove.i can already see the republican establishment is lashing out against tea party conservatives, even though they used them to win by landslides.

but the biggest thing i get from this,is that republican establishment never wanted to repeal obamacare, they wanted to look like they tried to block its implementation, but instead wanted it to go into effect to be the guys that said see told you so.or better yet they dont want to stop what they call a trainwreck, because a trainwreck hurts the democrats and helps them greatly, while stopping it doesnt do well for the republican establishment until after the damage is done.

Not politically correct? I don't see it that way. I see it as extremist whining. One of the reasons I left the Republican Party, about 10 years ago, was that extremism was taking it over. But at least mainstream Republicans are getting ready to finally take the party back, which to me is a good thing. What you are now watching is the death throes of the Tea Party movement, which was originally a decent group of the grass roots, which was hijacked by self serving and pompous assholes like Cruz. The American people have had enough of their whining and their antics, and main stream Republicans are about to make them nothing more than a footnote in history.

NOTE: I wasn't completely truthful when I said that extremism was the reason I left the party. It was really for health reasons. I am allergic to nuts.

I feel bad that this idiot is from my state how he got elected is beyond me. I appologies for the state of Texas maybe they should be kicked out of America. First Gov Perry running for President and now this teabag loooney!

He got elected because there are more good people in the state that believe in standing up for their beliefs than there are useless socialist types, like Liberals.

Mainstream Republicans are ready to take things back? BRahahhahahahah. Why would anyone vote for a mainstream Republican when their message isn't much different from a Democrat? Oh wait there is one difference, the Democrats promise more benefits! So why the Hell vote for a Republican when the Democrat promises more? That's what you get when you stand for nothing but power. The Tea Party on the other hand do stand for something very important.....The first principles of the Constitution. And one of those first principles is LESS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. So as long as your so called "mainstream Republicans" continue with the crap they keep pushing, they will lose the next election too because they stand for nothing!
Milk toast never does. But hell they are great fun and good for a few laughs at a cocktail party in D.C.
