Opposition to defunding increases sharply when the issue of shutting down the government and defaulting is included. In that case, Americans oppose defunding 59 percent to 19 percent, with 18 percent of respondents unsure. The final 4 percent is a group of people who want to defund Obamacare, but become unsure when asked if they still hold that view if it means shutting down the government.

Why would defunding Obamacare require a govt. shutdown? I wish I could find what some of you people are drinking because I just don't get it and feel out of place with liberals who have no concept of even basic govt. responsibilities and funding. brainwashing is always much easier when you have people without brains.

The CNBC All-America Economic Survey of 800 people across the country conducted by Hart-McInturff, finds that, in general, Americans oppose defunding Obamacare by a plurality of 44 percent to 38 percent.

As it relates to a govt. shutdown and default. You don't have to shutdown the govt. because of Obamacare but apparently that message hasn't gotten to the Obamabots. I am waiting for someone to intelligently explain to me why Obamacare is good legislation and should be implemented. I know, shouldn't have expected intelligent posts in this forum from supporters.

The comparison is about them being appeasers, not prosecuting an actual war. That's why it is just a comparison. You have republicans claiming to be against the ACA and wanting it repealed, but when it's time to act, they shrink. They are appeasers, going along to get along. Selling out their constituents so as not to upset the apple cart in Washington. They will vote to go ahead and send the resolution to a vote that they know it will pass.

Then they get to cast a meaningless vote against it, so they can claim that they did what they could to stop it, when they actually helped it along.

Hey, have you had your shift hours cut yet thanks to Obamacare? What speaks volumes is the lack of specific sites I can go to so that I can see what a wonderful Job Obama and liberals have done to our economy. I am willing to learn but unfortunately I haven't found a liberal yet capable of pointing me to those sites.

I totally understand why you would be skeptical but really point me to the sites that show Obama successes because I have been unable to locate them and after 5 years of performance there are still so many here that continue to support what he is doing and has done that I would like to see for myself. Part of growing up in the Midwest is you learn to trust but verify. Now all I have to do is verify that incredible Obama performance so that I can show the 57% of the public that is giving him bad approval numbers just how wrong they are. Be the first liberal Obama supporter to point me in the right direction to get that data? Thanks
 
Congressional Approval has declined all but one year since 2001 and is sitting at 15%.
68% of Americans feel the country is on the wrong track.

People are getting tired of career Senators who have lost touch with the people.
I'm tired of defeatist Republicans that don't even have the willpower to put up a fight anymore, they need to go.

Sure their has to be some compromise to get anywhere in a two party system but all I'm seeing is Republicans getting steamrolled (on just about every issue) without even putting up a fight, or having the audacity to criticize when some new blood actually comes in and tries to fight for us.

Obamacare is overwhelmingly unpopular so it is not unsurprising that the house wants to defund it.

Kudos Paratrooper, well stated. Today I was reading a story that told one thing the left may be willing to do is postpone the individual mandate for one year and do away with some medical device tax. Some of the Republican senators think this is progress. But who benefits putting off the individual mandate until AFTER the 2014 mid term elections? Certainly not Republicans. DUH.
