And he was punished for it. He got what was coming to him. He's not walking the streets. He's in jail. What was being proposed in the OP was that he wasn't punished enough and you can't punish someone for crimes they thought of.

That's one of the great things about Texans. They are all business and they do things in an expedient manner. Shame it's so damn hot there all the time or I would have moved there already. Texas should annex NY so we get the great New England weather but without having morons like Weiner or Bloomberg for politicians. We need some Bush family members to come up here and clean things up.

If you feel the need to support those who get sexually excited by watching children having sex, then you must have some dog in the hunt here. And if that is the case, I really feel the best thing you can do is contact your psychiatrist or call the SVU in your local city before a child suffers.

Let's just hope the other prisoners in general population take care of business for the greater good. Typically they do. Chances are this guy won't make it much longer than Dahmer did.

"Turns out to" cause harm? Turns out to? What, like there's any ****ing ambiguity about whether harm was caused in the making of child porn? No. Not a correct statement. Knowingly purchasing a product that you know for a fact that someone was harmed in the making of it.

What if I buy a product that I know for a fact was made with child labor? Should I be held accountable for providing these assholes business?

Child labour does not always equal to child abuse. Please learn the difference. It would bring you back to reality.

Here's how I measure it: Considering a kid can't consent to sexual activity until they're around 16-17 in most states, child pornography is without a single shroud of a doubt, child abuse. Anybody taking part in its distribution, purchase etc, is guilty of an illegal activity.

At the end of the day you answer to one person, and hopefully the harshest judge of your decisions. It's the guy you look at in the mirror when you are shaving. If you are cool with profiting off slaves then nothing on some forum is gonna change that. If you are appalled by slavery and want nothing to do with it, then equally nothing on this forum is gonna change that. Personally, I don't buy stuff that I even think was made by children slaves, let alone KNOW was made by them. In fact, when at all humanly possible I buy American.

What "stuff" is made by child slave labor? Or even child labor, which is just as bad as children should be in school instead of working (for any amount of compensation.)

If this is common knowledge, then why is this stuff sold in the USA?

Everyone doesn't seem to understand that I have been pretending to be ignorant the entire time to see if people could justify the law. As your argument here, the person in question is not distributing the material, but simply the individual that received what has been distributed. Since the individual in question was not a distributor your argument here doesn't seem to be relevant.

The act of possessing the child porn causes harm to the child and continues the ILLEGAL exploitation of that child. It is QUITE RELEVANT. The fact you are defending the act of possessing child pornography says lots about you though.

USA doesn't have jurisdiction over the work rules in other countries. But anyone with access to Google should know what companies use children / slave labor and then ship their goods to USA. The garment sector of the retail industry is one of the worst, as are textiles. Go to the results page of this Dept of Labor report. It's pretty disgusting. Child porn is page 22.
