UN report on Syria has been released

According to U.S. intelligence that noone is allowed to see. Again, more of "Trust us, it's him". You want to trust that, that's you.

You want to trust Assad, Putin and the Iranian regime, that's you.

Ah yes, intelligence was wrong about Saddam...Even though at the time shipments were noted moving across the border to Syria while we appeased liberals and waited for the UN, and three votes in Congress for authorization....

Meanwhile back to today folks....

And it starts again....before long we will hear the same argument, all we have to do is copy/paste, and change "Iraq" to "Syria"......:lamo

Yes and the Lebanese daily Al-Mustaqbal is such a reputable source right? Gimme a break, next you'll be linking an Al-qaeda site to back your claims :lamo

Yes, because the US military is supposed to be used to save the citizens of other countries from their government.

If you're ok with chemical genocide and think we should do nothing about it, fine. That's your position.

You want to trust Assad, Putin and the Iranian regime, that's you.

What part of "I don't know for sure which side did it" do you not comprehend. Just because I think the U.S. intelligence MIGHT be faulty doesn't mean I believe theirs is not.

It's amazing you only have a two-sided mentality on decision and analysis.

Hmmmm.....Quicker than I thought....:lamo

They used intel that was obvious to anyone paying attention was bull**** and reported as such at the time.

Every Western country's intel was fooled by Saddam faking a WMD program, but Henrin the internet guy knew the truth!!

haha

If you're ok with chemical genocide and think we should do nothing about it, fine. That's your position.

So how do you feel about Darfur and other African nations that slaughter is happening in, should we be there? What about North Korea? China? etc. Or are you only interested in bombing brown people?

Yes, I do. I see a lot of people wanting regime change in Syria and that is the key motivator. As far as your person insults are going, if that is what you have to resort to when your viewpoint is questioned, you have already lost.

You are using a BS example to claim that intel could be wrong about Assad.

Here's an analogy:

Someone puts sugar in a car's gas tank and the car breaks down. Thus, you claim "cars break down!" as evidence against a new vehicle.

Several unlikely bedfellows have converged, in a swarm of conspiracy theory, to demonize Obama. No matter what evidence is produced, we will be hearing "Obama lied" for at least the next decade. Here are some of the loonies that are and will engage in such:

1. Obama haters. These consist of: extreme conservatives, racists and fringe partisan hacks.
2. Fundie Muzzies. These consist of radical mosque heads, generally paranoid cultists and others who believe that the ME should remain in the dark ages because that's what God wants.
3. Extreme non-interventionists. These consist of ignorant hippies, greedy capitalists and others who would rather people suffer chemical genocide than we spend US dollars.

Some of those will stop the nonsense once the evidence is made clear, some will never believe anything that contradicts their psychotic narrative.

No evidence has been presented, much less made clear.

So how do you feel about Darfur and other African nations that slaughter is happening in, should we be there? What about North Korea? China? etc.

You don't understand priorities? How can someone function without a basic understanding of the concept of priorities.

Or are you only interested in bombing brown people?

That's a stupid question. You've left the realm of reality.

All of this because Obama was too weak to back up his own words...What a joke. No wonder we are LESS respected in the world now with him in charge.

If you're ok with chemical genocide and think we should do nothing about it, fine. That's your position.

I never said it was fine. So anyway, where is your proof that Assad did it again? Oh right, no one has that.

Every Western country's intel was fooled by Saddam faking a WMD program, but Henrin the internet guy knew the truth!!

haha

Not even close to true, but nice try.

Actually, this isn't true at all.

Obviously, Henrin is just using the conclusion (which happened to coincide with his ignorant position) to make a ridiculous claim of special knowledge and understanding. As if he should be put in charge of the UN. haha

I never said it was fine. So anyway, where is your proof that Assad did it again? Oh right, no one has that.

Who is more likely to have the scientists with knowledge in chemicals and toxins required to handle chemical weapons? The Assad regime or a rag-tag group of rebels?

It has been reported in the past that the rebels may have used chemical weapons. (UN accuses Syrian rebels of chemical weapons use - Telegraph)

The US and some of its European allies “are using defense contractors to train Syrian rebels on how to secure chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria,” according to “a senior US official and several senior diplomats." (Sources: U.S. helping underwrite Syrian rebel training on securing chemical weapons – CNN Security Clearance - CNN.com Blogs)

Handling chemical weapons really doesn't require scientists. Developing them, sure. But give some dirty bombs to some rebels and they'll know how to use them.

The only countries arguing that the rebels did it are Russia, the Iranian regime and such. No western country has contested the US conclusion that Assad forces conducted the attack.

UN itself accused rebels for using Sarin in March 2013, way too much before 21 August happen.

I was referring to the current event, not questionable events from the past.

Citation? I'm willing to bet that the UN, as a total group, did not make that accusation.

This investigation will be used just for debate and nothing else.

The Russian and US show it clearly, when they get a deal they forget and ignore the UN and the Congress.
I see it way too offensive how Obama use to play with Congress. He tells them: "Be ready we're going to meet for a case. Ohh, just leave it, I fixed it with Russians."

Well I don't think it's been a question of "IF" chemical weapons were used, only who used them. To that degree is where all the other countries have different versions.

That is exactly what I was going to say! I don't doubt that chemical weapons were used. The pressing issue here is who used them and where did they get them?

I wonder if anyone knows whether or not the UN has an inventory for the chemical weapons that are under control of the Assad regimen? Somewhere there must be records keeping about these weapons.
