That is possible with a hamburger, since it is a product with a fixed cost. That is not possible with insurance, since it should be based on actuarial risk, because it is a service without a fixed cost. It may sound fair to say that everyone should pay "the same" for insurance yet we know that is not possible - even PPACA does not attempt that nonsense. In the liberal utopia, where unicorns graze and wind/solar provide unlimitted free energy, all is fair when "the rich" pay for most of everything and the rest pay some percentage of their meager incomes with the gov't running the show.

one would think.. but after watching things happen like the IRS targeting conservative groups and them getting away with it.. I don't have much confidence

It's not really what they want to do. They say that hoping to get people to vote for them. I guarantee you that a Republican President in 2017 isn't going to repeal it.

well, if you have evidence they want it repealed for only themselves... bring it forth.

I highly doubt they will repeal it too...primarily because Democrats won't allow it to be repealed (well, except for unions)

Which means... the Dems will have to shut down the government or pass the bill, or the R's have to cave.

Americans don't want this abortion of a bill. I say the R's need to force the Dems hand.
It's been passed, and now that we have had time to experience it (I doubt most have read it), we see what a mess... ahhh "train wreck"... (to quote one of the authors) it is.

The last time the government was shut down, I believe the R's won 2-sets in the midterms.

It is going to get to the point that the determining factor on who gets any Obama Care subsidies is who you voted for last election it will be required for you to be a registered democrat to get one
White House: No subsidies for union health plans

What are republicans going to do now that Obama is for this I wonder?

Dems just take the union vote for granted. Easy to do because the Repubs won't go within a million miles of grabbing their vote for fear of losing all their corporate donor backing.

Then unions got destroyed by Reagan. Really think they'll make that mistake again?

Which is all the Republicans want hence their drives to kill unions. Then we can have basically two parties going after the same corporate $'s for their campaigns meaning they will act even MORE the same than ever... because we all know that politicians in our country represent their campaign donors. Constituents fall into a faaarrrrr farrrrr second place consideration.
