it's Saudi Arabia's duty as regional power to handle this. we should no more be involved in this than SA should be involved in a Mexican civil war.
second, in the time it has taken us to plan (and report every detail of) this strike, Assad has probably moved everything not bolted down into civilian areas where we can't send missles. the strikes will not be successful.
it upsets me that we are preparing to plunge yet again into war when our own house is not in order. this will be a proxy war with other superpowers and regional aggressors, and we are going to pay for it. this would have been the perfect opportunity to resign our role as global policeman, but we didn't take it, and instead chose to draw a line in the sand. it was a mistake.
