Re: Putin says Russia has its plans for Syria
because it's a finite resource, it's fungible, and it's going to run out no matter how much we drill. it needs to be replaced. the fight for diminishing resources has the potential to be catastrophic.
Cuba is a dictatorship. every other first world democracy has a system in which citizens aren't one serious illness or injury away from bankruptcy at any given time. meanwhile, we are the pro bono global army for them.
how do you feel about that? we're doing all of this interventionism for Saudi Arabia, the price of oil shoots through the roof, and not only does SA get to abdicate its duty as regional hegemon, it also makes out like a bandit. you get to pay. that something you support?
How about we drill, and ramp up our own, and cut SA out? I mean, we only get 19% from them anyway....Besides, can't we just fire up our windmill powered cars yet?

I think Cuba has what you're looking for, although you may not like the rest of the condition of life there.
