Rebels are to blame for gas attacks? (Syria)

I'm not saying that's what happened. But the Syrian government was winning the war and attacking only civilians only galvanized the world against them. That seems like an awfully boneheaded move. I wondered why the UN wasn't acting, it may be because this isn't as clear cut as Obama is making it out to be.

And people are chomping at the bit to go to another war because of it. This is why we cannot just emotionally react to these situations. Do we need another 10+ year war to learn this lesson?

Have you been paying ANY attention for the past 10 years?

I see why so many have difficulty with you. It's impossible to have a conversation, bye now.

Grammar trouble, too.

Insults are all Libbos have.

See. I've been nothing but a critic of the O admin. And you call me a libbo. Just not paying attention.

Only the folke who are too lazt to a read a book.

Assad is a SOB, if not a monster. So are half the leaders of the world. That's not the issue we face. Let's stipulate that Assad is a vicious dictator. It doesn't follow that he deployed the chemical weapons, or that the rebels are good guys. Indeed, the rebels have a substantial number of jihadists who would do a lot worse than use chemical weapons if they had a chance. I don't think we should be the ones to give them that chance. Even if there are some genuine democrats mixed in with the rebels (we think)

This is not patriots versus redcoats. It's vicious secular dictator against vicious sectarian jihadists.

It never is. Obama says he doesn't want an attack to cause regime change, but sec. of state Kerry is calling Assad the next Hitler and this is the worlds next Munich moment, so what is it? It's two sides calling each others bluff. US who drew a line and whoever who did this.. saying you can't touch us.

I heavily lean towards rebels (Al-Qaeda, is my thinking) doing this. Forcing the US into this corner knowing they can draw US into another **** storm.

Did that self proclaimed war hero really say that Assad was the next Hitler ?

At least Kerry didn't accuse Assad of personally raping, cutting off ears, cutting off heads, taping wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cutting off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shooting at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan like he accused me and another 3.5 million vets who served in Nam of being quilty of.

Good evening, APACHERAT. :2wave:

Syria is small peanuts on the world stage, and everyone knows that. There is more behind this, IMO. Invading them makes us look like bullies, especially considering that there are currently regimes whose atrocities are equally as disgusting, but we aren't invading them. Selective outrage looks ridiculous! Why the haste, when we still don't know with certainty who is guilty? The UN isn't convinced, and neither are our allies, plus this administration has not sold this to the American people, who overwhelmingly are saying  until the truth is known!

You may be on track.

I think it's very likely that back in May or June or even earlier Obama decided to pick sides and intervene in a religious civil war that doesn't involve us. Sarin gas is just an excuse to get involved.

Obama, considering he has adopted many of his fathers Marxist ideologies decided on regime change in Syria and has again sided with radical islamist facist and Islamist radicals like he did in Egypt and Libya. Except this time Al Qaeda is already involved and they are with the rebels.

After Assad who's next on Obama's hit list ? Maybe the King of Jordan ?

Jesus, you're trying so hard, it's almost sweet.

Use a couple more emoticons, though. You need them to capture your essential tone.

It's fun to watch conservatives being driving crazy by Obama's deliberations and caution -- poor conservatives can't figure out which talking point to use.

Well like I said before.....only thing I am conservative with, is money.

Course I already knew you would come up with some lame excuse. Try reading more than the Democratic Underground, Huff PO, and Salon New Sources. You might actually then have a real thought.

In fairness, Obama had his ducks in a row, had already locked and loaded and was ready to pull the trigger late last week, then one by one, some key partners and considerable opposition from us at home, e-mails, phone calls and a lot of bitching backed his skinny ass up!!!! There was NO deliberation or caution, he's doing what he should have done a long time ago. Before he ever asked the UN for permission to use military force in Syria, he should have checked with you and me to see how we felt about it, if he saw support from us, he should then have gone to congress and sought approval, had he secured that there, he should THEN have presented his case, his evidence at the UN, and then had it merit he would have secured authorisation there and he would be bombing his little ass off, to the content off all the war mongers we have both here and everywhere else. But see, he didn't do that. So STOP............... Giving him a pass. He looks like and quite is an idiot on this!

Yes, yes, the tired old "I'm not a conservative" conservative meme. I guess given the vast failures of your ideas, it's best to take that strategy.

Well, I think you're projecting a rightwing movie on the screen here.

There's no evidence Obama was "locked and loaded." He's cautiously and deliberately moved forward, gathered intelligence and tried to garner support, both from other countries and more importantly Congress, which is appropriate. I call that statesmanship. I call what Bush did stupidity.
