That soft little snapping sound you just heard was what was left of the tiny bit of spine that he had. He LOOKS weak. The world SEES him as weak. His red line got crossed before and he didnt do jack dammit. Shouldnt ought to be engaging his lips and how does that old saying go, stop writing checks he cant cash.
And firing a missile at syria without approval from congress or the un security council would have been stupid.

What is the right thing? Is it right to launch a few hundred cruise missiles and call that good? Against whom? Do we even know who used the chemical weapons or if it was the same people that used them the LAST time the line got crossed? And if there is PROOF it was Assad...why just cruise missiles? Hell...that will accomplish nothing.

Then maybe he should stop posturing. The word from his own administration was hey...there is PROOF...no doubt...send in the ships...attack within days...that was last Tuesday. The attack...you know...the one requiring attention...took place 10 DAYS ago. 1400 died at SOMEONES hands...but so far 100,000 have died. We are just really firmly committed to the cause, right?

Thoughts? Comments? Another date, my love?
I like that idea. Don't you? I really feel Obama is a true Constitutionalist and is POTUS at a time where America hates every POTUS no matter how good or bad they might be. I believe history will be very kind towards Obama. I think he is a great POTUS, and I liken him to the integrity and great will of Abraham Lincoln. Not sure I can say that since I didn't vote for him (I only vote Libertarian and hate the GOP and DNC platofrms), but I love this POTUS.

Yeah - I am not sure what the White House is thinking on this one. Oh dang - last night on XM124 POTUS Channel; they said the White House published some of the findings they de-classified. If will find it and share the link. I haven't read it - will do that now.

OK - I found it. Go to Whitehouse.gov and click on Statements and Releases. From there click on "Government Assessment of the Syrian Government’s Use of Chemical Weapons".

    Oh, it's laughable all right.

Problem is, the world is laughing at the United States. Our President made his 5th grade level "red line" comments and then kept on doubling down on them. Now he says he's going to go to congress but is not even going to recall from a recess to do it. Yes siree bob, the world is laughing and wondering who will make the next foolish remarks, Obama or his Secretary of State.

Of course it has all been predictable, we've already suffered through four years of his disasters.

Russian involvement is a fiction, it is not even part of the equation.
Alright, you just stated that the worse (although unlikely IYO) is for Syria to lash out at its neighbors, Turkey being one towhich the US is closely allied with. What if Turkey decides to strike back? Don't you think one of Syria's allies wouldn't come to their aid, the most likely being either Iran or Russia?

Another bad scenario would be if Jordan decides to fight back against the inevitable Islamic insurgency that is sure to follow an U.S. unilateral strike. You've said it yourself that Egypt is unlikely to get involved which further confirms there's no buffer between a potential swarm of Muslim extremist fighting against Jordan but also making their way towards Israel.

Hypothetical? But we all know the Middle-East is a powder keg waiting to explode. All the radicals need is a reason to light the fuse.

My point here is there's a lot at stake here, far more than some people are willing to admit.

If that's the 4-page white paper on the matter, I've read it. The one thing I'd insist on would be clear proof that the chemical weapons attack was sanctioned by the Syria government. Lack of such proof and very little international support for military action are the only real sticking point with me.

I suspect you hate Obama because you are pro GOP and hate anyone who is part of the DNC. That having been said, I think Obama is doing a great job, much prefer him to McSame & Juggs or to Romney & Lyin' Ryan. Kerry is a solid Secretary of State, as was Clinton. I'm not in love with Biden the liar; but that's a story for another day. I could care less what the world thinks of USA as long as they aren't trying to attack her or her citizens. And if they hate us so much they should tell us to pull our troops out of NATO and stop accepting our free money, free arms, or even our commerce. That would be fine and dandy. Until then; the world is a bunch of butt kissing hypocrites that suck off the teet of the US Taxpayers and US Workforce.

The key to igniting WW3 is whether or not Israel is attacked. If they are, they most certainly will respond with military force. If that happens expect Russia, Iran, and probably China to start shooting too. I wonder if any of those countries with nukes can suppress the possibility of using them, especially if they are losing a conventional war. It will be interesting to see how other ME countries respond as well.
