You don't seem to be getting the point. When someone says that it's ridiculous to believe in a book, continually quoting the book isn't going to be taken seriously.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I understand that you don't believe it; I think it's sad, but it's your prerogative. Others however read this besides you and me.

Yup and lots of people are realizing what an absurd waste of time it is. That's why 100,000 people walked away from the Baptist church last year alone. It's why the Catholics are hemorrhaging members left and right worldwide. It's why no belief is the fastest growing demographic. The Bible may be one of the most purchased books around but it's also one of the least read and certainly, the least understood.

But sure, keep believing in primitive bronze-age nonsense. It's your prerogative, after all.

Looks like Justice has been served .

Yes I know I have a typo in the Thread title.
The man has conviction... That is what he wanted...

Considering the guy has a PH.D in psychology ..............I supposed he is a martyr for his beliefs and ideas.

Pretty ironic given is former profession...

Where this is a simple case, we still make many mistakes in convictions as our recent ability to use DNA evidence shows. Though we may wish to deny a person like this an appeal because it is obvious, those appeals are there for the defense of the innocent, and many of the protections we have that are important in america are there to make it harder on the government for a reason. When you wonder what that reason is you need look no further than NSA spying where we made it easy for the sake of simplicity and sacrificed our liberties and now we face the consequences of that action. I am perfectly fine with spending a little extra money in this area to make sure people are protected from the government. If we are worried about BS legal costs let us get rid of the drug war first.

Read what I said more carefully. I said you waive your right to an appeal, because Hassan doesn't want an appeal. The automatic appeal even when the convict does not want it is idiotic.

Then let him kill himself, we do not have to do it for him. If we are going to do it then i would be better with us being sure we are getting the right person and doing the right thing. I am cool with retaining the few rights we still have.

Having the right to an appeal does not mean you need to be force fed one. This kind of BS only contributes to our national debt.

I see you aren't a believer, that's your choice. Let me ask you thought, why does it upset you so much that some of us do believe?

So does the doctrine of self defense. And abortion. And the rule that you are generally not required to risk your life to save someone else.

I personally don't think there is anything immoral or irrational about concluding that a person who murders many others in cold blood, who admits it, and who is proven guilty by incontrovertible evidence, forfeits his right to life.
