Report shows how recession hit families [W:391, 502]

Great, the difference being you don't have to move to TX but you do have to have Obamacare. Don't let reality ever get in the way of your feelings. Guess the TX rankings were ignored when people come to MD Anderson in Houston or the other Medical facilities around the state. TX population is growing and business base is growing. I guess your rankings weren't considered.

Nice diversion though as the topic was ER usage

Dance all you want, but the facts are still the facts.

And no, the topic was quality and cost. ER was embedded in that, but not the sole topic.

.
Fact, I have great healthcare, fact, I live in TX, fact TX has a growing population and business base, fact, liberals are jealous of TX

Don't care about anything but the last one, and that one is a plain lie. The fact is, and it is a fact, MA ranks better than Texas.

I am sure that there are parts of MA that are better than TX but find it hard to believe that any beat the Houston Medical Center including MD Anderson. Sounds like MA is exactly the place for you. Isn't it great living in a free country where you can move to MA or anywhere else you want. I know MA would love to have you so add to their high tax base.

Doesn't matter what you think, overall, it ranks better. Fact.

You are right, all that matters is what you think, not what anyone else thinks nor personal experience. What experience have you had with MA healthcare? I understand you believe you are right on every subject and ignore both the size and growth of TX in your comparison. MD Anderson has an incredible reputation for Cancer research and treatment. Memorial Hermann Hospital system is one of the best in the Nation. St. Luke's Medical system is improving and will be a top 10 hospital system soon so you can keep beating the drum of healthcare rankings that you never had any dealings with and totally ignore those of us that have. That makes you feel good.

rational system?
yanno what is irrational? The government telling the ER's they have to provide free medical care. That is where this all went off the rails. As for overrun, it got so bad here in Phoenix because the government allows us to be OVERRUN by illegal aliens (remember Holder filing suit against AZ?) nearly every last ER simply CLOSED in those 'parts of town'. I heard one cop joke that now when the cholos shoot each other they'll never make it to an ER because they have to ride all the way cross town to get to one.
No I couldn't care any less than I already do. The government made this mess on purpose so they can 'ride to the rescue' if you think Osamacare is going to make things 'better' I have a beach front home I wanna sell you that is in Gila Bend

What I think? As much as you. Facts? Well they are different now aren't they. And Texas ranks low on healthcare. Education as well. Really, not a top tier state.

neener neener neener my state is crap next to yours and I don't care
it doesn't reflect on me one whit

Well then all those people and businesses moving to TX are making a big mistake. You really ought to try and save them from themselves. My son graduated from a TX High School and TX college, I will tell him that your rankings indicate that he isn't successful. That will come as a surprise to his family since he is an Architect. it really is a shame that so many people are moving to this state because he is keepting too busy.

That naturally amazes those that think that the southern border is secure.

Oddly much the same crowd that favors PPACA, well at least the "good parts" of it. ;)

Well, you can remove that requirement. It wasn't the government who wanted it in the first place. it was people reacting to people dying that led to it. Everything has a history, and it usually boils down to work by people not in the government leading to the change. it was pure grassroots movement that brought that change about.

Feel free to try and get the support to reverse it. :lamo

Does anyone still believe we want it secure?

Why should doctors and hospitals be forced to give away their services in 'Murica?
Nevermind soon with socialized healthcare they will all become municipal workers
Welcome to the DMV of healthcare (but only for those that can't afford to pay cash lol)

oh crud will the private practice of medicine will be illegal?
Guess we'll all have to go to another country?

I am definitely part of anyone and possibly even part of we; so yes on both counts. Now there are quite a few those that prefer to keep labor costs low by "accidentally" hiring those with fake papers, but they grease the palms of politicians to keep that well hushed up. ;)

We have 20K border patrol agents to try to secure 2% (at most) of the nation leaving 5K ICE agents to man the rest of the nation. Doing the math, rather quickly, that comes to one ICE agent for every 2,200 illegal aliens, or to put that another way - that is like using the total current number of police officers in Baltimore, MD and Boston, MA combined to patrol 98% of the entire nation. Is that federal immigration law enforcement efficiency or what? Those guys must be BUSY!

EDIT: If each of the 5,000 ICE agents caught and deported one illegal alien each work day (no vacation time) it would take 8.8 years to deport all 11 million of them.

If we, the nation as a whole, wanted it closed, it would be. I suggest that money, those who provide jobs, don't want it closed, so it will not be. 10 years from now we'll still be having the same debate, complete with the same posturing, but no real change will occur.

That, unfortunately, is true of many of our federal programs, they are carefully designed to allow the need for them to continue or increase (mostly the latter) so that we the sheeple get fleeced forever yet nothing of consequence actually changes. Every election cycle we are reminded of the loafty goals of our annointed federal representatives, each assuring us that this next term will show us great progress on all manner of ills facing us and with plenty of time leftover for more progress on many fronts. Rinse and repeat...

I won't argue that you're wrong, but also acknowledge many of the programs from the federal government were fought for by people and not really top down dictates.

LOL !!!

If we could only be like the hell hole North Eastern States that bought into the great Liberal lie.

The Houston Medical Center has been world renown for decades.

I have family members who retired out of the Health Care Industry. One Pediatrician, one Internal Medicine Dr and a couple of RN's.

We get a lot of traffic from all over the world that head here.

Texas has been Obama's largest and just about only jobs contributor.

As a proud son of the South, I wouldn't live anywhere else.
