You keep trying that lame line of defense, while ignoring the incredible inconsistencies of the left. The Left support and protest for war we have no national interest in. One in the backyard of our brilliant allies. Then there's Iraq and their idiocy. Where was the left protesting Libya and Obama's unilateral actions without approval from Congress? Where is Obama hiding today? At least Felonious Bill Clinton sent Sec Def Cohen around to prepare the nation for war by explaining the seriousness of WMD in tiny quantities. Illustrating the fact with little more than a baggy full of the stuff.

I think what she is trying to say is that in Iraq we were searching for WMD's with no real evidence and we did it with boots on the ground in a full scale invasion, Syria however we have proof that chemical weapons are being used and the response is going to be air strikes.

It's like comparing Bosnia with Afghan.

and Nagasaki ... but you obviously didn't get the memo - when we do stuff, it's different ... btw, just learned that during the Iraq-Iran war, Iraq used chemical weapons and we knew it and said nothing because we were on Iraq's side ...

What I don't get, if it happens, is going in before U.N. inspectors complete their investigation ... they're there now ...

I don't care how the wars were fought... it was the actions of the moronic left in response to the wars.

In the Balkans THE LEFTISTS PROTESTED TO GET US INTO THE WAR, one we had ZERO national interest, and was in the backyard of the Europeans. As for Iraq their constituents warned about WMD and voted to send the troops to war (the Dem Senate begged for a second vote!), and then they turned their backs on the troops when they needed support most. They and their propagandists went one further and fomented the idiocy on the left.

What Sen. Majority leader tells the enemy "the war is lost"? An idiotic leftist.

The hypocrisy is huge... and Redress wants to put on her Burka with blindfold and play stupid. She does it well, but I'll just keep kicking her in the ass.

To think of how tolerant the left the idiot is... they went after their one opponent within the party, a former VP candidate and succeeded in defeating him in their primary. Republicans helped reelect Lieberman.

Lets rethink Libya for a minute. Obama starts dropping bombs in Libya because he says thousands of people are going to be killed if we don't. So we bomb and kill thousands of people. Then we stop bombing and what happens? People still get killed. What got solved? Nothing.

The problem is you see inconsistancies where none exist. Let me ask you a simple question: is an invasion and occupation the same thing as air and missile strikes? Careful, this is a trick question and you cannot come out looking good either way you answer.

Lies, bullcrap, and nonsense. The rebels used the chemical weapons and you know that. Provide your link to the proof that Syria used the chemical weapons. Don't hold your hand over your butthole while looking for that proof, it will be full. There are at least two links on this forum regarding the rebels using chem weapons and ZERO links that show even the slightest possibility that the Syrian Gov't used chemicals. The US says they have incontrovertible proof, just like with Saddam, but they don't show that proof, because it is a lie.

Rebels, Gov forces it matters not because if chemical weapons are being used and we sit back and do nothing then our position will be weakened for decades. What is the point of the UN and Nato if we sit back and allow this bloodbath to continue?

I don't believe I've seen your links to any other proof. I know that the mainstream media in the US is adjusting the information due to intelligence agency manipulation to gin up a war. I just read an AP (associated press) article today that said the rebels used gas in December and that is the UN report you just linked to. The rebels used the gas, and gosh, they fooled AP or own AP, as is the more likely case. War is good business. OIL in Syria. Nice port on the Med. Great pipeline route. The first profits of war go to the energy corporations like Exxon/Mobil, Chevron, BP, Total, etc. because wars run on energy and if new resources fall into the energy corporations hands as a result of the war, they will profit again. Any competent marketing department would push for new war/wars at every opportunity. Oh Wait. Wars aren't about OIL Wait, lobby money from BIG Energy corporations to politicians isn't the same as bribes.

The point is that, if we are going to kill somebody, it should be the rebels. It is the rebels that used the chemical weapons.

Well given the fact Turkey are a member of Nato and potentially Chemical Weapons are being use on their doorstep I think it might be an issue for them. Nato also enforced a no-flyzone in Libya back in 2011 so what is different in this case?

Point is, we cannot afford to go into another war half-cocked with incomplete or false information.

America has a super power military. Unless it is our objective to go in and lay waste to the land now known as Syria, we need to keep out of it. Let somebody else deal with the light work from now on. Screw 'em.

Then let Turkey lead and tell them that we (meaning all of NATO) have their back. Using U.S. military resources everytime some foreign moron goes "out of bounds" is getting quite old to me.
