my thoughts exactly. he did not do this out of any sense of patriotism or for the welfare of his fellow citizens. it was a petty act of vengance to "get back" at those whom he thought had mistreated him. **** him and I hope he enjoys Leavenworth.

So, no unfortunately Manning will most likely not be pardoned.

35 years sounds about right to me. Parole in 10 years does not. I agree with you.

Why hasn't he been stripped of his uniform and rank yet?

Re: Bradley Manning sentenced to 35 years.

I do not consider what he did to be a bad thing and actually am glad he did it. A lot of that info should have never been classified anyway, and our government seems to use the need for certain things to be secret to make things that should be open to the general public secret. Still, he made an agreement to protect that information and for whatever reason he broke it. If it was the wromng reason he still did what should have been done, but sometimes doing the right thing is hard.

Some of the people around here seem really bothered he exposed a dirty secret that makes them feel shamed, and that seems to be making them very vindictive towards him. If you are so worried that the governments assault on innocents is happening then maybe you should decide it is time to stop casting votes for those sorts of people. It is not manning's fault this was so shameful, it is the tolerance you have for the actions of the corrupt and generally evil. I am glad he did what he did to expose the villainy of the US government and it's crap throughout the world. A respectable leader ashamed of his outlandish and illegal actions would have pardoned him, but we are not going to ever see one of those in our lifetimes because so many people endorse it as long as they never have to be reminded of it and how much of a part of it they were for voting for their leaders.

The only redemption here is that he might get parole after 10 years. He probably won't though - they'll keep him for the whole 35.

In the meantime...the corrupt TX judge who sent dozens of innocents to prison for a kickback got 3 years.

while I feel his act was traitorous.. its nice to 'gut check' the powers that be on occasion..

our govt. reeks of complacency and has for some time..

I would have liked to see a longer sentence, but 35 years is OK.
