Nah... they caught the guy that broke into my house in Ga. He was hitting all the houses up my street. Crackie.

In Phoenix, my neighborhood when to meth hell and they didn't get caught the couple times they broke into my house there and the other times they stole crap out of my yard but a solidly educated guess would be for the meth.

I'm all for legalizing pot and regulate and tax it as if it were alcohol and/or cigarettes and use some of those revenues (as well as the money saved not having that stupid war on marijuanna part of the drug war) to go after the mindless speed freaks.

Unfortunately, you're in the same Kafkaesque spiral that causes alcohol drinkers to pass laws against marijuana users who in turn criticize Methamphetamine users who think that Cocaine users are crazy while the LSD users shun the heroin users and so forth.

They should all be legal. They should be sold in controlled circumstances like the old State Liquor Store system, without any advertising or glorification. That's much too simple though....

I'm for it like that. I think our uber religious nation and phony conservatives in this country would die a thousand deaths before any of that. I liked what I think Vancouver had done that I saw some time ago in a news documentary.

Even though it was still illegal nationally, they provided heroine houses for users to go to (taxpayer funded which chases off the phony conservatives right there) and they provided small quantities with clean needles. This helps drop the spread of disease as well as provided a rehab in the same building that they could opt for. Because as much as I'm for rehab over prison, you are NOT going to rehab someone who really doesn't want to. They have to want to to make any progress so the volunteer option makes a lot of sense.

So instead of living in the shadows of society and spreading used, rusty needle diseases and breaking into houses to support their habits, it was organized and monitored and rehabbed. It seemed like a very wise approach.

Abuse of our legal system can also come in the criminal courts and be perpetrated by the State.

Recently, the Arapahoe County (CO) DA prosecuted a 10-year old boy for arson. It seems the boy was playing with fire and accidentally did burned a portion of his parents home causing nearly $200,000 in damage. The DA was seeking restitution FOR the insurance company... essentially making the family pay back insurance proceeds AND pay lawyers to defend their 10 year old. How twisted is that?

Fortunately a local paper got wind of this story and wrote extensively about it, ultimately shaming the DA into sanity.... she finally dropped the charges.
