Tea Party Favorite Cruz releases birth certificate

LOL....you think the birther rhetoric is based on reason? The fact that 50% of the GOP still actually buy into the Birther BS is just further proof of how ridiculous and out of touch the GOP of 2013 has become.

No, I'm talking about the tired, pathetic, vacant racist crap that the left pushes nearly everyday. Yeah, as if republicans would back the big dummy if he was white. I got news for you, he'd encounter the same resistance no matter what race he was, whatever his mix.

And my initial premonition is someone like Newt, who has southern con appeal and knows how the gov't works.

Newt would be effective working with a Congress he has taken to task recently. This accidently on purpose shows his independence.

I liked that right-wing social engineering thingy too.

Believe me, we'd be more than happy to have blimpo on the top of the ticket but the guy under him is going to need to carry the jaws of life in case CC sits down wrong.

Their hatred of Hillary or anyone Dem precludes that. Repubs will not make another 2012 mistake. I'm all good with voter ID, but that isn't the story. The latest has Repubs trying to eliminate college voters who are eligible with "local laws". They are in it for the long-haul. are Dems?
I doubt Christie could win the nomination, but if for some he did the GOP voters would not come out to vote for him.

Voting for Booker I see.

The birther crap was in large part based on racism. Sorry...that is just the cold hard fact. Not that all Republicans are racist....because as a matter of fact, I don't believe that most of them are. However, there is a large sergment, namely the hard-right birther wackos who ARE racist. Their BS was grounded on the idea that it couldn't be possible that a person who didn't look like them could possibly be as American as they are...."he must be foreign"....this is the wing of the GOP that is bringing the rest of the part down.

Many didn't show up to vote for Romney and you actually think they will show up to vote for Christie? What gives you that idea?

Romney was a corrupt capitalist. Romney walked back his successes. Romney lost white con votes in purple states across the Country. He was not one of them.

Christie in an EC landslide. Repub primary/caucus rules for the 50 states favor CC. CC took good notes from Romney on this.

Absolutely NOT. In regards to age, look at a cross-section of our citizens. They're stupid. They're government-schooled. A great deal of these cretins spend more time paying attention to reality TV than paying attention to their elected officials. These are people who are itching to sue anyone for anything for a payday. There's no wisdom in the kids coming out of school today. If you ask me, the minimum age for the president (35) is just fine. I don't want some punk getting elected. I want someone who's done something in his life (unlike 0bama). Perhaps someone who's spent some time in some sort of official role, so he knows how things work (unlike 0bama).

Honestly, I don't care if the President is a natural-born citizen. What I do care about is that a) he's a citizen...period, and b) he's been a citizen of this country for a length of time (maybe 25 years).

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if a President came over on a boat when he was three? Seriously? He could grow up to be the most brilliant scholar in the world, but you're going to deny us a leader like that because he spent the first three years (which frankly...he probably doesn't even remember) out of the country? 0bama says he's a natural citizen from birth, and look at him. He's a clueless imbecile jerk. I'd rather have the scholar myself.

It does matter. It's a constitutional issue. Like it, love it, hate it. But it shouldn't be ignored because we think it's a petty requirement. I just find it hard to believe there is no oversight to make sure the qualifications are met. To enroll my child in school I had to show proof of residency.

Romney was a corrupt capitalist.

It's funny that during the election Romney was made out to be a stuck up millionaire. But the dems must have a short memory because Kerry and Kennedy are/were one to.

I'm beginning to wonder whether he is in the country legally? He was born in Canada. Does he have a visa? I'd like to see the visa, and not an online copy, but the original.

Thats a good question.

There are several elements which demonstrate the Tea Party influence. But, generally speaking, it's a more extreme right-wing Republican base, many times trying to pass themselves off as libertarian despite their many times oppressive social beliefs. But I think describing the Tea Party can best be summed up in two pictures.

#smh

Why is it so hard for you have a real adult discussion about these things?

The Tea Party isn't Collective. You made a false statement.

And Kerry and Ted both lost, along with Bain capital. American's have been consistent here. You forgot Dukakis. Not a good night for Massholes. I fixed your quote also.

Yep, he was actually able to run the nation, wind down Bush's vanity wars, kill Bin Ladin, revive the economy AND play golf. That's how talented he is. Poor Bush couldn't chew gum and accomplish missions at the same time.

It must suck being a conservative and having to vote for untalented inept nitwits like Bush and Romney

He has run the nation down. He has expanded wars. He didn't kill Bin Ladin but finally got cornered into making a decision where our troops were sent to do just that. He avoided it for a long time. And yes, we all know he has played golf. And more golf. And more golf.

Was Obama chewing gum while he was also playing cards and making phony photo shoots the night our troops killed Bin Ladin?

The far right has the same problem that the far left does: they've both lost sight of what matters to focus on trivial things that are irrelevant.

Are there any qualification for office that are relevant?

They aren't hard to find. Just Google it. Here is one from last year from USA Today Many GOP voters doubt Obama is U.S. citizen in this poll, among other states, only 33% of Republicans in Tennessee believe that Obama is a US citizen. DOH!Of course, no matter what poll I put up you are going to claim "Bias".

There must truly be a gene in liberal progressives that makes them feel like 18 months, 2 years ago, during an election makes their bias claims from back then relevant today...We see this sort of thing in the fact that anything Obama fails at is still Bush's fault some 5 years later...

Disney, you didn't qualify your statement of 50% of the GOP...with 'during the last election', trying to dishonestly give the impression that the Obama birth certificate questioners still give a crap today about that....When asked to provide proof of this, all you can do is pull up polls from 2 years ago, during an election, from biased sourcing....

Your claim is officially dismissed as BS. Sorry.....:2wave:

Then there is the question of his odd social security number and the foreign aid he received as a student.
And yet, you can't prove either one of those are true. Go figure?

That was the information that was debated. And there was some information that was contrary to that. When it came to light that everything was kosher, nearly everyone let it go. But there was nothing wrong with having the debate then, and there is still nothing wrong with having the debate now. The OP isn't interested in a debate though, he's just interested in name calling and gotcha posts.

And I still maintain that every candidate on the ballot should submit credentials to each state detailing their eligibility to be the POTUS. I have to go through a background check every time I get a job, why not go through a background check to POTUS? Seems logical to me.
There's nothing wrong with presidential candidates having to present proof of eligibility. The problem is when such proof is rejected in favor of idiocy like Birtherism.

LOL.

No, Obama is the one with egg on his face. As always.

The President of the United States of all Americans could have released his birth certificate at any time. Instead, he does what he always does, plays politics, divides Americans, creates wedge issues on so on. And lets not forget that it was Obama himself who was the founding "birther". He started it all. Now compare that to Cruz. The issue pops up. The issue is taken care of. On to something else.

He did release it. Twice. First time was way back in 2008.

And how on Earth was Obama the "founding Birther?"

No hypocrisy here. Obama's birth issue was over when he submitted his birth certificate just like Cruz's issue is over. Except you are trying to make it an issue now. That's where the hypocrisy is. Sorry you can't see that.

What's the issue over Cruz's eligibility? Who's making an issue over it?

Hah, no. Ignorance of the law isn't an argument no matter how hard your side keeps trying.

Cruz was born a US citizen because his mother was 18 or over and a US citizen.

Obama's place of birth was only an issue because his mother wasn't 18 so his citizenship would have to be derived from where he was born.

Say what?? His mother wasn't 18??

She was born in November, 1942. Obama was born in August, 1961. Why are so many Conservatives so bad at math??

So is it a "rabid idiot" who asks for proof of natural born citizenship for a position that requires natural born citizenship?

Setting the bar a little low there, aren't you?

No, it's a rabid idiot who insists a notarized birth record that is authenticated by two governors, a director of health, and a state registrar ... is not sufficient evidence.

If Obama filed his birth certificate with his application in 2007 then why did he fight providing it until June 2008?
WTF?? Show where Obama "fought" to provide it. Show one instance prior to June, 2008, where he was asked to show it and he refused.

Just one.
