1. Are not the people who run the fair the clown's EMPLOYERS?

2. If the EMPLOYEE(the clown) engages in activities that the.EMPLOYER finds offensives...does not the EMPLOYER have the right to confront the EMPLOYEE on his actions?

1. Rodeo clowns are no more employees than union members are employees of a specific company (yes I learned today there is - as funny as it sounds - a rodeo clown union)..

2. No one found the clowns actions "offensive" until some bitch ass mark progressives started talking ****... Of course the republicans had to apologize like the ****ing cowards they are... If it even matters -- if a business chose to fire an employee over free speech I would condemn it (I have and I will)...

No...he's employed by the.people that run the Fair.....just like when I play a gig...I am the employee of the owner of the establishment I am performing at for those 2-3 hours.

He works for some promotion/production company as an "independent contractor" - in reality he works for himself....

In reality he is no different than the clown you see on the street corner...

Not that any of that matters considering the man was BANNED and not fired...

The man cant go get another job with another promotion company and work in the same park with a DIFFERENT EMPLOYER because HE WAS BANNED....

Here's the thing though, usually those rules are posted somewhere. For this to be anywhere close to being a legitimate ban (which I don't think it is), there would have to be a rule somewhere that says you can't mock a sitting president.

As far as I know there isn't and this was not a racist act in any sense I'm sorry.

While I don't believe Obama himself had anything to do with this, the people that did the ban are morons.

True, but if there are standing rules that prevent an act like this (which I don't think there are), it could cause a ban.

In this situation though, IMO, the banning is not legitimate and I hope this person can sue.

Just shows how many little bitches there are in the world these days. Ridicule of a president has been standard practice in this country since Washington. Clinton was savaged. Bush was savaged. Reagan was savaged. Carter was eviscerated. They have been mocked, hung in effigy, the constant subject of comedians and television monologues. As to your post, I have absolutely no reason why you included the picture of the GWB head from Game of Thrones which is an entirely seperate situation.

In one case a person intentionally put on an Obama mask as part of his "clown" costume with the direct intent of making it perfectly clear he was referencing Obama to the point of having the PA announcer ask the crowd if they wanted to see Obama "ran down by a Bull".

In the other case crew members on a TV set grabbed a bunch of dummy heads that were on hand, threw wigs on them, to use them as props and purposefully turned the face away along with giving it long hair to not make it clear that it was a model of the former President and was publicly stated that it was done for absolutely no political reason and in no way was highlighted by those doing it.

Yes, TOTALLY similar enough to warrant using that picture alone to demonstrate your thoughts on this issue.

I saw the video and I have to admit that I didn't see anything really racist here. I thought it was disrespectful to the President of the United States but nothing more.

First it is Missouri, not a huge battle ground state in the elections. It went Willard by 10 points.

Next it is rodeo, next to NASCAR it is THE redneck sport. Not a lot of limousine liberals in the bleachers.

The Fair Board members are not going to have a bunch of 'Abortion is good' or 'Solar Power Now' bumper stickers on their gas guzzlers.

But there may be a fair number of Missourians who are old school patriots, not one or two parts of the Constitution 'patriots'.

There was a saying in the Army I served in- "You salute the rank, not the man." The difference between protesters out on the street vs on State Fairground property should be obvious. Something organized and that represents the State. Respect the Office of President even if you don't like the current occupant. Yanno try and bring a little class in a place that smells of horse and bulls**t.

As an aside- I can't ever recall a clown wearing a mask- they need all their vision to be safe. A mask cuts down peripheral vision quite a bit. Does mess with breathing as well. I'd say this clown isn't the brightest guy who ever decided to make a living as an angry bull taunter.

Lifetime ban may be a bit much but there are plenty of other events to work, it isn't as if he was banned from ALL rodeos. Then again many in here demanded Manning be executed for what he did.... :peace
