    Popular Baby Names

Here is Messiah's ranking from the SSA.

    Popular Baby Names

In 2012, it's ranking slid up to being almost twice as popular (statistically) as it was the year before. In fact, it ranked one below Scott and one above Jay for popularity last year. Here are some names that were less popular to name your child last year than Messiah: Devon, Albert, Philip, Randy, Saul, Davis, Donald, Bruce, Larry, Russell, Dennis, just to name a few.

    Popular Baby Names

This was just last year, 2012. Imagine how much popularity this story, and this judge have now brought to this name now. She will likely have Messiah's showing up at her door in protest of this to show her that Messiah is a valid name that she had no business changing for any child just because she felt it was inappropriate/wrong.
I can picture a bunch of Jesus' showing up at her door and a leper messiah too! (Metallica reference! )

They were debating/contesting the babies last name. The first name wasn't even the issue.

Of course the judges ruling will be overturned.

Roguenuke already explained that to me. Thanks anyway. I agree that judge's shouldn't be allowed to change names against the parents' will. That's pretty messed up.

It is surprising that a judge from a GOP state would interfere with "Libertarian values". State Government intervention seems to be okay when it is done by the GOP.

Judges make crazy rulings like this all the time, I think many are the result of manic meltdowns tho. That doesn't change the fact that some judges are just eccentric and rule as such (this not being one of those cases).

I'm not shocked at all considering the GOP continually attacks libertarians attempts to get on a ballot (by challenging their/our petition sigs) and the GOP always seem to get a GOP judge that sides GOP. Of course the GOP only does it because they're scared libertarians will steal votes from the GOP during the nomination process and in the general elections...

IMO, the judge in this case just had a mental break and had no desire to hear any of it and made a crazy ruling just because he could.....

But plenty also make rulings based upon their ideologies, even though they might deny it.

    Without question....

That's why I have a problem with the SCOTUS considering they're the last stop on the legal railroad and are far from being immune of bias for political reasons...

I wouldn't know how to begin to solve that problem.

A good way to start would be to drop the whole "Justice for life" aspect of the SCOTUS position and subject the positions to democracy...

I suppose if they're going to be appointed Justices then we should have an even number and not an odd number - like a jury... Expand the number from 9 to 10. 4 republican, 4 democrat and 2 independent.

There should be no appointed positions in government because that just allows our government to become ripe with tyranny...
