What is to look at, it's Obama's same old proposal but worse, what don't you get about it this time around. Obama = Tax and Spend. Tax corporation more to be able to spend more. You did not hear tax more to cut our deficit did you?

    Good evening, apdst.

They claim there is $3 trillion dollars being held overseas. Using the amount that BHO has added to the debt in the past five years, and assuming they can somehow manage to confiscate all that money, not just the taxes they might be able to collect, that would only run the government about three years. Then what?

One of the consequences of relinquishing monetary sovereignty to some central authority over which you, as a nation, have no control...

Ahhh....so corporations are in the habit of plainly disclosing offshore money laundering on corporate balance sheets and we can then tax that. It's so clear now. Nice ASSumption.

It's what the President is proposing. Read more; post less...

He can propose what he wants. What I want to know, oh guru of knowledge and wisdom, is exactly how we are going to tax money we do not know about held in offshore accounts in countries we have no jurisdiction over. Can you answer that?

People who talk about tax rates are wasting their time unless they include tax policy. Obama never gives enough detail in his proposals to analyze them. No one knows at this point what the impact of his new proposal is. I know at this point, what he's done with respect to taxes has hurt the economy, slowed the recovery, and discouraged employment.

As far as I'm concerned, any change to tax policy that doesn't scrap the entire system and start over isn't bold and doesn't go far enough to restore fairness and increase efficiency.
I wondered why we weren't discussing the "job creation" part of his Grand Bargain. That affects more people than his attempt to tax offshore accounts. And why was this proposal made at an Amazon warehouse he was visiting, instead of Congress? It doesn't sound like he is too serious about this Grand Bargain! We shall see.

Do you believe corporations are understating their profits to shareholders? That wouldn't be in the best interest of multinationals...

I don't think the shareholders get a say, it's all controlled by good ol' boys (and not Luke and Bo Duke) on the Board.
