Now, the question is whether she should be Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

No; why would anyone? At first it seemed like a brilliant move: governor, looker and a woman. It revitalized the stalled McCain candidacy. Then she started speaking, and being stumped by simple questions most of us could have answered with ease. She seemed astonishingly inept, calling into question the judgment of not only the McCain campaign, but voters in the state of Alaska as well.

Shelia Jackson Lee makes Sarah Palin look brilliant by comparison. People railed against Palin as being under qualified for the job of VP yet Jackson Lee is even less qualified for the DHS director position. Palin got mocked and ridiculed for saying stupid things yet Jackson Lee has said far dumber things on far more occasions.

But in the case of Jackson Lee it's all sexist and racist, right?

Why? Is she not able to name a local newspaper, whether she actually reads it or not? Does she think the US-based Univision is a Mexican network? Does she think the role of Vice President is Senate Majority Leader? Does she think the Great Northwest includes New Hampshire? If asked her thoughts on the Bush Doctrine, would she go blank and be utterly ignorant of what it is?
