Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'[W:65,239]

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

then let them get married, adopt children, etc. ... if it's wrong, God will take care of it ...

BTW, speaking of sodomites, is it O.K. for a man and woman to have oral and anal sex with each other?

Not in the State of Virginia.

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

I'm not judging and condemning anyone. Stop trying to make this about me.

Homosexual sex IS a sin and an abomination. Have you read The Bible?

Judgement and condemnation is between the sodomite and God. A lot of people here seem to think that the Pope is condoning homosexual sex. He's not.

The Bible is a work of fiction written by very fallible men.

A little girl, who was being abused by her father, was taken from the home and placed with a gay couple. The gay couple spent laborious hours teaching the little girl that what had happened was not her fault, and that she was a precious gift. Their love and devotion enabled the little girl to learn to love herself and others while thriving.
Now, if homosexuality is a sin and an abomination, do you think God is displeased with the gay couple?

Displeased with their handling of the girl? No, but that is irrelevant.

A murderer who was released on parole helps an old lady cross the street and shows her love in the process. Is God displeased that he murdered someone?

Doesn't work that way.

Exactly how does love work?

If your boy gets all A's on his report card and is suspended from school for fighting, are you displeased with him?

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Relevant? Really?

Here's what's relevant:

Not one single person anywhere on earth knows what "god" may or may not like/love/dislike/approve of, or dis-approve of.

Nobody knows anything about any of that.

In fact, not one single person here on earth knows if a "god" even exists.

So judging anyone other than yourself based on what YOU believe is idiotic and childish.

Perhaps disappointed, but not enough to consider the child an abomination.
Usually a parent's love never dissipates regardless of how egregious a child's violations may be. Therefore, does God turn His love on and off so easily?

It's not that simple. It's not a turning on or off of love. It's about punishing sin. God is Holy and cannot tolerate sin wihtout repentance.

Actually everything you just said is completely and utterly false. I know God exists, I know what he approves or disapproves of.

Just pointing out that you can be pleased with some behaviors and displeased with others at the same time and with the same person.

Does he approve of murder? King David, a man after God's own heart, had Bathsheba's husband murdered.

Wrong.

You have faith that he/she/it exists.
You think you know what he/she/it approves and disapproves of.

No, if you recall David and Bathsheba were both punished for that.

I talk with Him every day actually. And He wrote us a letter, it's called the Bible, and it tells us what is right and what is wrong. You will not understand that because you refuse to believe.

But he spoke to us in parables. Nothing should be seen as literal, nor unchanging.

Wow. Your arrogance is astounding.

You'd have been an extremely accomplished Muslim of the Sharia variety had you been born in another part of the world.
