Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'[W:65,239]

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Sadly, I don't have enough fingers or the patience to count the number of Evangelical pastors who blatantly live(d) in sin. I'm not even talking about people who blatantly live in sin. The prohibition under Pope Benedict expressly applied to anyone with a homosexual orientation.

Oh yes, orientation, one's choice to love someone of the same sex.....

Its hardly a choice. No one chooses their orientation. Love the roll eyes btw. So much for love the sinner. ;)

It's the distinction, David, between who one is and what one does. The Catholic Church disapproves of any fornication.

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Didn't know we were talking to a righteous virgin. My bad.

Not sure how my status is relevant, or appropriate. That being said fornicator does not equal all people who have lost their virginity.....

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

I do find interesting, though, how your claim has changed from the Pope "consistently defending pedophiles" to his "defending pedophile priests during his first week." So maybe what you’re calling a “nun revolution” is really just some radical sisters trying—as they have since the late ‘60’s—to persuade the “establishment” that she should be allowed to enter the priesthood.

I’m just guessing, though. So much “laundry” to do, you know.

Try Sister Simone, who spoke at the Democratic Convention, is a strong supporter of the ACA--AFTER reading it--obviously supports the church's teachings on abortion.

Radical sisters, as you would say, are the only good part of this church right now and consistently through the ages.

The pope shouldn't judge people. No religious leader should. They should be a humble servant to God.

Too many people, instead of "serving God," prefer to have God serve them, by using Him to justify their whacky-dom.

This has been going on long before Christianity was invented.

I remember as a child being taught that we were made in God's image, only to find out as an adult that it was the other way around - we made God in our image ... one could even argue that it was not God that created us, but that we created God ...

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

And of course Christians, in particular Catholics do such a fantastic job at that.

Oh wait.

How do you know what every Christian and Catholics think or what the faith teaches?

Oh wait. You don't.

Christians hate the sin. Love the sinner.

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Please don't forget that every single person walking on this Earth today, and every single person who has ever walked on this Earth is or was a sinner.

Nobody is without sin.

So stop being a massive hypocrite by condemning others when you yourself are not free from sin.

Please quote me where I condemn homosexuals in this thread? Oh wait. You can't. I never did any such thing. Nowhere in the thread did I claim to be a perfect human being either. Strawman much?

Engaging in homosexual sex IS a sin and an abomination. It's not for me to judge. That's between the sodomite and God.

then let them get married, adopt children, etc. ... if it's wrong, God will take care of it ...

BTW, speaking of sodomites, is it O.K. for a man and woman to have oral and anal sex with each other?

The choice of your words makes everything quite clear.

"Abomination" in and of itself is a judgmental word.

You lose.

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Catholic churches across the globe have these little rooms where people go to to seek to resolve their sins. They are called 'confessionals' and their clergy sit daily in 'judgement' and help people resolve those sinse, find peace and healing, and move forward. Who is he to 'judge' sin? Ummmm....I dont know...the holy see, the father of fathers, the leader of a church with a foundation in a belief of forgiveness of sin by admitting, confessing, and resolving said sin...

When you say this you are condemning and judging homosexuals. Who told you that's your job?

The Pontiff has stated nothing new. Roman Catholics aren't supposed to pronounce judgement on someone, while at the same time not condone someone's actions.

We have a winner!!!!!!!

Thank you. First, I want to thank my parents. Without them, I wouldn't be here. Then I want to thank the Academy of Posters for this great honor. All of those years of wasting my time on these threads finally paid off. Thank you, thank you very much (as he wipes a tear away).

I'm not judging and condemning anyone. Stop trying to make this about me.

Homosexual sex IS a sin and an abomination. Have you read The Bible?

Judgement and condemnation is between the sodomite and God. A lot of people here seem to think that the Pope is condoning homosexual sex. He's not.
