Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'[W:65,239]

Don't know who that is. Don't care.

They aren't the authority on what The Church believes/teaches anyways.

Not really sure what point you are trying to prove here.

Here's the thing. Anyone can believe something that isn't true. Happens all the time. But, are you someone who questions, and lets people tell you what is true? Some who questions seek answers by investigation, and reading all available sources. Those who don't, are merely sheep.

smart pope

he understands the fact that according to his religion homosexuality in its self is not a sins

The Bible is very clear

The Catholic Church's teachings are very clear

God is quite clear in the Bible about engaging in homosexual sex. It's a sin and an abomination.

Jesus condemns Sodom and Gomorrah multiple times, because of the sexual depravity (including homosexual sex) that occurred there.

You don't get to selectively pick and choose what to believe as a Christian.

Like I said, sheep don't question. I've shown you that not all read it as clear as you do. I've shown translation errors. Yet, you close your mind. I'm so sorry whenever I see that.

You've shown nothing

This thread is about THE POPE and THE CATHOLIC CHURCH'S VIEWS in regards to engaging in homosexual sex.

This thread is not about some church (nobody knows) Boo Radley googled and linked. If you want to create a thread about your awesome new church, then go create a thread. Stop trying to derail this one. :2wave:

In any thread, people make statements. You made some. I rebutted them, with links and factual information. You merely repeated mindless unsupported claims.

You haven't rebutted any statements

You haven't supplied any factual information either. It's obvious you're just googling things about religion without a clue. Throwing stuff against the wall, hoping something will stick.

I've quoted right out of The Bible. I've merely stated what The Pope believes and what the Catholic Church teaches. Nothing more. You've spent pages and pages now throwing a temper tantrum, trying to derail the thread and generally making a complete fool out of yourself.

If you want to continue to do that, by all means, please continue.

You've missed the Bible, and I've linked that for you. More than a few times.

Oh so now you're pretending Leviticus isn't in The Bible

Let me check my Bible. Nope, it's still in there. Like I said in the previous post, by all means, don't let me stop you from making a spectacle of yourself.

Have a nice day :2wave:

actually the spectacle would be anybody quoting Leviticus when talking about "THE POPE and THE CATHOLIC CHURCH'S VIEWS" and saying "You don't get to selectively pick and choose what to believe as a Christian."

Now you're just lying in that statement. I made no such claim. I claim you misread it, ignoring context. Try to keep up. ;)

Let me go check my Catholic Edition Bible

Gay Sex is still a sin and an abomination. Nothing has changed.

Both of you are failing badly at your attempts to derail this thread. For any further responses, please see my first post in this thread.

Luckily I can read and think. My mind isn't closed. You see failure because you're not open enough to hear.

honest question for you: If the pope, with the full support of the Vatican, launched a massive reform of the catholic faith and lifted the ban on all things gay, how would you feel about it? would you accept it or continue on your current tack?

Re: Pope Francis on gays: `Who am I to judge?'

Like attacking George W Bush.

And I attack Obama too. Here's the deal - They both suck, and they both deserve to be bashed to hell for what they have done to this country. So no, I'm not letting up on Obama, and I am not letting up on Bush either. They were perfect dance partners in this cluster <insert f word here>.

Francis continues to distance himself from Benedict. Thoughts?

I like this pope more and more. He truly has a good spirit and understands the gospel message of love, rather than the virulent hatred of the fundis that have dishonored real Christianity.

The Pope would be putting himself above God's Laws

That would make him a false pope

The Pope (nor The Church) gets to determine what's a sin just because celebrities try to normalize it through Pop Culture and indoctrination in the public schools.

Gay people own the culture at the present time, but this is only a speck in time. I don't hate gay people. I wish they would stop engaging in sodomy, I pray for them, but ultimately it's their choice. They will have to answer to God for what The Bible (not me) calls "detestable acts". Now I understand people like Boo Radley and Agent whoever think that's not true, but they are sadly mistaken. There's no wiggle room here. The Bible doesn't (*&^ around when it comes to sexual perversion. Engaging in homosexual sex is clearly a major sin.

Gays write all the movies. They run Hollywood. They completely control the fashion industry. They tell people how to think. How to act. What to believe. What clothes to wear. The media is very powerful and has a lot of influence. Personally I don't allow what's popular and trendy to dictate my morals. A lot of people in this world DO however, and a lot of those people voted for Obama twice.

As Jesus said to Pontius Pilate, there is only one truth though. Nobody can change that, including The Pope and The Catholic Church.

What is the Truth - YouTube

They tell people how to think. What to believe.

Irony much?

Or is it hypocrisy?

Both?

What exactly is religion?
What exactly does the Bible do?

Your "beliefs and values" (cough cough) come straight from a source that's told you what to believe and how to think.

The book you so intensely love to quote from and the religious point of view you have is not in any way, shape, or form original thought.

Religion is 100% about telling people what to think, how to behave, and what to believe. Religion is 100% about control.

Therefore, pot, meet kettle.
