It's a boy! Catherine gives birth to royal baby[W:136]

Erm, the Battle of Britain was over by the time the US entered the war and we repaid lend lease. Your gripes against a Royal Family of another country have other reasons I'm afraid.
Had we not invaded on D day there was nothing stopping the German Army from advancing towards England.
British air power was decimated, her naval fleet was reeling, her populace was fearing the worst.
But you are going to try to tell me that we didnt need to interviene?
OK, I understand pride.

Tell me about it. It's non-stop coverage at the moment, It's driving me insane. WWIII could have broken out, and no-one in the UK would no anything about it!!
WWIII has been raging for 60 years, maybe you didnt notice.

"It's a boy! Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William on Monday welcomed their first child. The baby boy was born at 4:24 p.m., weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces. A name has not yet been announced for the child, who is now third in line to the throne."

Does anybody in America care???? Thanks CNN.

LOL - He's cute, as are all babies . . . and I hope he enjoys his life of ignorance before he realizes what he's been born into. I don't really mean that in a bad way - but regardless of what type of person he becomes, he'l never have a normal, peaceful, basic, enjoyable life. Every moment he'll be watched, negated, commented on, and robbed of privacy.

Look at his parents: the most stressful and difficult time in any woman's life when all you want to do is curl up and crawl away from it all . . . and people hounded at the bit for her to suffer.

1) We had air superiority.
2) The English Channel.

British air power was decimated

Just where did you learn your history? Can you provide links to show the Germans had decimated the RAF?

No, we needed the US, USSR, Canada, Australia and other allies. However the picture is not what you paint.

OK, I understand pride.

If it's from the same handbook that explains the Battle of Britain so badly, I think you need a new library / dictionary.

Not until the nukes came down on us. It is ridiculous, Russia declares war on homosexuality, Britain blocks porn from their internet, US drops bombs over the great barrier reef (de-activated), New Zealand is about to legalise spying on it's citizens and 500 convicted Al-Qaeda members escape from a jail in Iraq. BUT WAIT - What's the baby called? I understand coverage of when its revealed, but seriously?

You had air superiorty? Really? I have first hand pictures of Britian taken right after the war.
The channel? People swim the channel, I think the German Navy could have finished you off.
The RAF were shot up and needed pilots, we provided that at first.
The only thing the USSR did was hold the German Army off from Stalingrad until they froze to death.

You really should try Google, it's good at finding things.

There's no point answering the rest of your post.

Yes I saw the glamorized versions.
I also have seen the devestation rained down from the German Air Corps.
You should also read the dark evil history of your cute little Monarchs.

Not a speck of German in me, by my mothers Maiden name was Hancock and her mothers Barbee. Both Brit decendants. Daddy was first gen Italian.

Are the names supposed to mean something? They mean only that a name descended through marriage/divorce/adoption/relocation, not a person.

OMG it looks like a......baby :2razz:

However Kate Middleton looking good considering, time to step up ladies ;)

Is he from whom you learnt your WW2 history?

I never picked you up on the point in post 106 where you claim America provide the pilots after the RAF was "shot up."

Historical records show 7 Americans served in the Battle of Britain though many of the 112 Canadians may have turned out to be American.

I know many Hollywood movies have American heroes who can kill 100s of the enemy with one clip of bullets, did your history of the Battle of Britain come from Hollywood movies and if so - which film was it please?

I really need to see this, I also asked for a link to back up your version of air warfare in WW2 and am still waiting - or was it the same movie?

My daddy fought in the south pacific in the US Navy against a real threat to the US.

Kudos to him.

I would still like to see you back your figures up about American pilots saving the UK from German air superiority in the Battle of Britain.

The bulk of the Battle of Britain was over by the time the US interviened. I know that, but you seem to be of the opinion that was it.
Hitler was going to take England one way or the other, and without US intervention and his mistakes in Russia. Would have.

I'm just loving your historical accuracy. :lamo

It's clear to one and all now that Winston Churchill's "Never in the field of conflict was so much owed by so many to so few" speech must have been to the 7 American pilots who single handedly saved the United Kingdom from Germany's luftwaffe.

What were their names?

Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Audie Murphy, Charlton Heston, Glenn Ford, Sylvester Stallone and Steven Seagal?

While I'm happy for the couple. It just amazes me that we fought a war to separate from England and the Monarchy and today we are still fascinated by the British Royal Family.

Oh great, another Royal pain in the ass!
