Heya RT .....you got that Right. Not to mention with some once they lose there. Then it will be lets move to another state and run there.

She says she is a Patriot. Yet she wants to take on another Republican. To what cause is she a Patriot? She is a Mom? The daughter of a Politician who was a VP. This is what she says are her qualifications, Right.

Wonder why she can't be a Patriot and go run against a Democrat with a Direct Challenge. There are several states where the Repubs don't have any in play. Must not have enough backbone to tread in those states of Liberaldom.....huh?

Heya DS and here is some more on Liz.

While he's no moderate, incumbent Sen. Mike Enzi has shown he is willing to compromise occasionally with Democrats, such as when he supported a sales tax on Internet purchases.

But Cheney, the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, suggests that such compromise often isn't good enough for a true conservative.

"I'm running because I'm concerned about the direction of the nation," Liz Cheney said Tuesday. "I think it's time for us to say to ourselves, 'Can we continue to go along to get along in Washington?'"

Liz Cheney described herself as a tea party sympathizer. She called the movement favoring low taxes as a "force for good in terms of getting people focused on fiscal issues."

Liz Cheney, 46, is the older of Dick Cheney's two children, both daughters. Married with five children, she was a resident of Virginia until recently. She and her husband bought a home last year in the posh northwest Wyoming community of Jackson Hole.

"Our support will be there for Mike," said the committee's chairman, Republican Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas.

The other two members of Wyoming's congressional delegation, both Republicans, came out quickly in support of Enzi. Sen. John Barrasso and Rep. Cynthia Lummis praised Enzi for his long service and knowledge of Wyoming issues.....snip~

Liz Cheney challenge to Enzi echoes GOP divisions

Guess she got her moneys worth with that 1.9 million dollar home she had built there in Wyoming just over a year ago. Moving from Virginia and all.

Senator Enzi is clearly one of the more conservative members of the U.S. Senate based on his voting record. My early guess is that the biggest policy differences between Enzi and his challenger may lie in the foreign policy realm. Very likely, if her foreign policy positions are similar to her father's, she favors a more activist foreign policy under the banner of advancing freedom and democracy e.g., would be a leading hawk for military intervention in Syria, would place greater emphasis on the use of force relative to diplomacy, etc. She might also favor greater Defense spending than Enzi, as Enzi voted to reduce funding for the F-22.

Almost certainly, she has plunged into the race, because she does not want to wait any longer to pursue her political ambitions. Perhaps secondary is her concern that the nation is moving away from the kind of activist foreign policy she champions. Senator Enzi's hasty, informal announcement of his intent to seek re-election was not a barrier and it is unclear what understanding actually existed between the two of them regarding the race.

It will be interesting to see how this race plays out. No matter who wins next year's primary--and a Cheney victory is not a given--the Wyoming Senate seat is a safe Republican seat.

Well, like the other Wyoming Politicians say. Enzi knows whats best for Wyoming People. I doubt Liz is much up on what Wyomings are about. With that whopping one year of time living there. Occasionally!

Re: Liz Cheney to seek Wyo. Senate seat held by Repub.....

I think Liz is just chewing the cow gummi, myself. She didn't really think she had a chance now, did she. I luv it.....Liz the Shiny New Pony Carpetbagger.

Rep. Lummis Predicts Sen. Mike Enzi Will Beat ‘Shiny New Pony’ Liz Cheney.....

After Liz Cheney announced Tuesday that she is mounting a primary challenge to Wyoming’s incumbent Republican next summer, the Cowboy State’s at-large representative in the U.S. House of Representatives said the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney has shown “bad form” in launching her campaign.

Rep. Cynthia Lummis, a two-term Republican lawmaker, called Cheney “the shiny new pony” in Wyoming politics, but slammed Cheney for a lack of etiquette in making her intentions known to her opponent, Sen. Mike Enzi.

Lummis called Enzi “a principled conservative” and a “uniting force” in Congress, noting that he is well-positioned to take over the chairmanship at the Senate Finance Committee if Republicans are able to seize the majority in the upper chamber.

“He and his family are just quintessential Wyoming advocates and I am in complete support for his candidacy for reelection,” she said, adding that she doubted Cheney could beat Enzi in a primary. “Sen. Enzi has a track record of Wyoming involvement and advocacy, and she does not.”

Lummis said she would have “absolutely” run for Senate had Enzi decided not to seek reelection. She implied that Cheney is a carpetbagger for seeking office in a state where she has not lived the majority of her life.

“She’s skipping everyone over,” Lummis said. “It is a very unique strategy to live your entire life elsewhere and then come to a state a year before you’re going to announce that you’re running for that state’s highest office.”.....snip~

I criticized your premise. Stop trying to play the victim.

A liberal in Georgia naturally knows more about Wyoming politics, right? Do you know how ****ing stupid that is? Of course, being a liberal, you see nothing wrong with spending a career sucking on the teat of government and accomplishing nothing. That's the liberal career of choice. Your role model must be Barbara Boxer.
Apparently I do since I have heard of him and know some of what he has done. I did not parade my ignorance and use it, explicitly, as a reason to attack him. That was you.

As for winning by a margin of 3 to 1, that simply says that the Republican candidate in Wyoming is going to win in a landslide, even if it's Mike Enzi. If Liz Cheney gets the nomination and wins by a 3 to 1 margin in 2014 or a greater margin, according to you that would mean she should hold the seat for life, right?
And you still miss the point. If the people he represents where unsatisfied with the job he has done, they have other options. Until such time as they do, the indication is, despite your claim, he might be missed by those he works for. Making up **** I did not say won't change that.

I am no fan of the guy, but at least I base my opposition on knowing what he does and stands for, instead of bragging about my ignorance on the topic I am giving my opinion on. If you do not know what he has done, maybe you should actually learn before spouting nonsense.

Pardon me, oh holy one - I forgot that as a liberal, you're the only one who's entitled to express an opinion. And try not to deflect, you ignorantly claimed that as a Canadian I basically had no legitimate right to express an opinion - that's liberal elitist xenophobic bull**** and you won't get a pass from me for it.

I didn't miss your point at all - you didn't have one - just nonsense eminating from your superiority complex. And don't try the line that a liberal from Georgia knows all about a virtually invisible conservative Senator from Wyoming - I'm not buying that **** either. What did you do, a quick google and found out he chaired some minor committee and so suddenly the guy's a Senate star and in your book he's entitled to a Senate seat for life?

Your opinion has no more value in the discussion than mine does, period.

You're pretty good at dishing out the **** on a regular basis but you hate to be called on it.

That's Canada, you have your nations mixed up. IN the US the Senate actually has a ton of power, in Canada, not so much.

He's not even good at "dishing" it out, so logic says that taking it would be in order of magnitude more difficult.

    Tim-
Actually, even though it is unelected, the Senate in Canada does have a lot of power. Its approval is required to pass legislation adopted by the House of Commons and it can veto or delay dealing with all legislation with the exception of constitutional amendments. In addition, it cannot initiate tax or appropriations bills.

In practice, because the Senate is not elected, it seldom gets in the way of legislation passed by the Government in the House of Commons, particularly if there is a majority government in the House. There are occasions where the Senate has stopped legislation. Recently, in the past month or so, it amended a popular piece of legislation related to union disclosures and the amendments are very unpopular, except with unions.

There is always a lot of talk in Canada about abolishing the Senate or making it fully elected and accountable to the public, but that would require a major constitutional amendment and there isn't support for it across the country.

As an aside, you'll note that in providing this information, unlike Redress, I didn't call you stupid or claim you had no right to utter an opinion on Canadian politics or government. I respect that you have an opinion and you have an interest in my country and its government and I don't insult or dismiss you when you're not totally accurate.
