I really think you are wrong about the gun analogy.

Hunting and or having a handguns to protect yourself and your family are basics rights.

Most people don't care if someone hunts with a gun or shoots a robber while protecting themselves or family.
But shooting a school full of children or a movie theater full of people with a semi is different.

My husband's cousin was robbed and kidnapped ( because he recognized the perps before they had the chance to disguise themselves) and he was shot several times with a semi.

They found his cousin's concealed gun which he had a permit for in his waistband in the small of his back.
His cousin never got the chance to use his gun but I am sure he would have used it ( and justly so ) if he had the opportunity to use it.

The point is: the title of your article is clearly misleading. There is no causation in the correlation presented in the title - the article clearly states such.
The legislation is designed to shut down any and all locations in Texas that do abortions. It also outlaws doctors from doing so. That is as restrictive as it gets.

I think he has a valid point in that he's saying that anti-gun people won't just outlaw guns, but rather do so indirectly with restrictions. That is exactly what Texas Republicans are doing. They aren't directly outlawing abortions. They are outlawing any facilities that do so by making regulations that shut them down.

This bill has nothing to do with sound medical science. It's just the pro-life being pro-life, as usual.

In the senate hearings, they didn't really allow any dissenting views to be heard. It was a joke.

Junk legislature from Texas... nothing new here.

At least prolifers on this thread admit that is the goal of the Texas law for which they then revert to their abortion-is-murder religious chanting.

If they are going to insist on having abortions, I would rather they be done with untrained hacks using coat hangers. Maybe if they result in enough deaths or sterilizations many women will choose not to have them at all. Maybe even more women who don't want babies will not get pregnant.

Nothing like killing born women to satisfy the pro-lifes insatiable need to save the unborn.

Yes, you fit right in with the ProLife men of this forum.

And as your taxes keep going up, and the country keeps voting to go more socialistic, and when your home is burglarized, your wife/mother/daughter raped, and inflation soars - you can finally claim you got what you wanted too.
