Um, excuse me - what right did the Republicans in charge have to confiscate the tampons and maxi-pads from anyone who had not thrown any? How does one determine that a particular woman is a 'threat' to throw feminine items, and that another woman is not? There ARE women who are rabidly ANTI-abortion (though they are far fewer than those who are pro-choice) - so how can one sensibly say ahead of time "Let's take the tampons and maxi-pads away from ALL women!"

Dude, the actions of the Republicans in charge was silly...and it's every bit as silly to defend it.

Oh, and Martin/Zimmerman wasn't about freedom of speech - or freedom to carry feminine items necessary for one's hygiene. It is flatly disingenuous of you to imply the two are in any way comparable.

No one has said there was anything wrong with confiscating those items, and I think at least most of us would support criminal charges for those trying to bring such in. How about talking about the actual topic?

As a native Texan, I am completely ashamed of the Texas Legislators who have made a laughing stock of Texas. Their actions against women are despicable. Texas now shines as one of the leading state idiocracies in the nation.

I consider this Texas government cowards and unforgivable.

Um, guns weren't banned from the Texas capitol. It is legal for anyone who has a legal gun permit to openly carry loaded firearms into the Texas capitol, even if the one carrying said loaded firearms are sociopaths who should be in an insane asylum, or if they look like people who inhabit the deepest, darkest nightmares of any red-blooded true conservative, like Osama bin Laden look-alikes, gangs of brown people from the hood or the barrio...essentially anyone that doesn't look a whiter shade of pale.

That's right - don't fear the armed people the Republicans have gone out of their way to disenfranchise - FEAR THE TAMPONS!

As has already been pointed out right away, no one complained about those items being confiscated. Got no problem with that at all.

But tampons and maxi-pads that are needed by about a quarter of all adult women at any given time? Please.

You're trying to defend the indefensible...and you haven't the courage to hold your own people accountable when they do something really, truly stupid.

They should have let the women keep their tampons and pads as long as they weren't used, but with these kind of weirdos who knows? I wouldn't put it past them to throw used feminine products at people when they throw feces and urine at people too. What is the matter with these people?

My biggest issue with the whole thing is involving children and having them hold those nasty-ass signs.

I can't speak for others - including the one you castigated in the quote above - but if you've been paying any attention at all to the news on the liberal side of the fence, you'd have been seeing a great deal of liberal and progressive outrage at Obama's actions - or lack of actions - concerning the NSA, the bankers who profited so much during the Great Recession, Obama's drone policy (which I've personally written an article against (I'll provide you a link if you like)), his failure to close Gitmo (even though it's the GOP stopping him), his failure to get Harry Reid to nuke the filibuster, his quite-frankly more-conservative-than-Reagan economic policies...

...dude, we DO hold our own accountable. When someone on the Left says something racist, they're gone (or at least marginalized) - and you cannot come close to saying the same thing about the Right...otherwise, Limbaugh, Hannity, Ron Paul, and Jeff Sessions would have been long gone.

So don't tell me that we don't hold our own accountable. We do. Sometimes yours does, too...but all too often, yours doesn't.

The above list is a WONDERFUL example of 'projection': "They must be that way because that's the way we are!"

Look again at what you said: "what right is it to take away my assault rifle because the actions of a very few when i have not committed any crime". Now replace that word with "tampons and maxi pads".

And how many innocent people are killed or wounded every day with tampons and maxi pads? One wonders how you would have reacted if bin Laden or a pack of brown people from the wrong side of the tracks had shown up with loaded weapons. If they had had their weapons confiscated, you'd be defending the confiscation all day long, and you know it. It's not what was confiscated that you support - it's that it was YOUR people confiscating things from people who opposed what YOU wanted to happen.

Seeing as how you are a very consistent advocate for being in support for women rights being reduced to that of a farm breeding animal your post is no surprise.

But the really amusing thing about your post is you think "20 WEEKS" is the issue. The issue is that the Texas Taliban are systematically shutting down all abortion clinics. But your ignorance in this issue is no surprise either.
