Surprise! Huge US Budget Surplus Shatters Record

Why the **** are voting demographics being discussed in a thread about U.S. fiscal policy?

Somewhere back in the thread one of you lefties decided to make it about race AGAIN. Bottom line is that republicans aren't as "worried" as democrats should be with "anybody but Obama" as the candidate on the republican ticket in 2016.

No here is what was said:

it's too early to tell what it means, but it's enough to worry the GOP ... the last thing they need in 2014, but especially in 2016 is an improved economy ... that, coupled with their wars agtainst women, the poor, the working class, gays, minorities, will kill them ....

You replied:

What makes you think it's "enough to worry the GOP"? Apparently, they're only releasing the result of their fuzzy math on that this morning and the markets aren't impressed..... what makes you think smoke and mirrors has the GOP worried? In actuality, an improved economy would be good for everyone and I don't think it's going to have much of an impact on the next election, anyway. Hillary isn't black, so there goes that high black turnout and 98 percent plus vote from the black community. Democrats will be hard pressed to field someone that can beat "anybody but Obama", no matter what the economy is like. Right now it's limping the right direction. I wish it was running with a full head of steam instead.

And that all went to refute your "republicans are worried" nonsense. Bottom line is that democrats are worried. The economy is sluggish, they're losing the power of "the race card", Obamacare was a big failure and his presidency has been eaten up with incompetence and scandal. If that hurts and you want to try to make it all about race, go ahead.... it's been the fall back position you lefties have taken on everything, so it's to be expected.

Looks like good news. I can't wait for all the deficit hawks to come in here and also crow about how great this is for our economy. You guys will right? Or is the sky still falling?

Surprise! Huge US Budget Surplus Shatters Record

The U.S. government posted a budget surplus in June, the latest sign of rapidly improving public finances that could reduce the urgency in Congress to strike a deal to raise the nation's limit on borrowing.

Rising tax revenues, public spending cuts and big payments to the Treasury from state-backed mortgage firms helped the government take in $117 billion more last month than it paid out, the U.S. Treasury said on Thursday.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a smaller surplus of $39.5 billion.

June's surplus was the largest for that month on record.

One month is meaningless.

you are the one who made it about race!!!!!!!!!!!! You!

When you're groping for anything resembling good news the way Obamaphiles are, you make a big deal out of anything you can find.

Actually I think people are tired of this hyper inyour face obnoxious partnership attitude.

I just told you the black turnout won't be so good and the vote won't be so lopsided - And that was just one of many reasons I listed for why democrats are the ones that are worried right now. Thing is, you know it because you're a democrat. That's why you tried to derail the whole thread based on one FACTUAL statement that I made about democrats realizing they'll not get as much support from the black community without Obama as an historical "first black president" to vote for. That's not racism. That's reality. But the race card.... it's what you guys do.

You've overplayed it. It's worn completely out.

Are you delusional? Stop arguing with me about voting demographics and try to stay on topic.

Kush has provided a myriad of good news regarding economic indicators that bode well for the next couple of years.

The point you are ignoring is that "RECORD BUDGET SURPLUS" breaking news isn't one of those good news indicators that bode well for the next couple of years and the market is responding as it does to all other ho-hum news with ho-hum activity.

Are you delusional? Stop arguing with me about voting demographics and try to stay on topic.

Then get off the race card and deal with the fact that this isn't "positive economic news". It's just a talking point.

You are delusional! I made no reference to race, other than to point out you have continuously made comments, in this thread, pertaining to it. Since you want to bark up that tree, show me where i participated in your off-topic bluster.?.?.?

I made ONE comment that was factual and I've explained it. You want to hijack the whole thread over it and I'm not surprised. That's what lefties do when they've got nowhere else to go.

If you want to support any of your remarks about how this "record budget surplus" is great news for the economy and bad news for republicans, then go out and find me an economic news story about it on any of the finance sites. Good luck with that. It's not economic news. Not good news. Not bad news. It's not economic news. If you weren't scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find something that WAS good news, this "record surplus for the month of June ever" crap wouldn't even be on the front page of a newspaper anywhere.

By the way all, this is good economic news. It is a sign that economic growth is beginning to chip away at the revenue gap that was created by the financial crisis.

Nope. You want to go off topic because the data cannot support your position. The U.S. deficit has the potential to be cut in half in the span of a year... without austerity.

Now imagine how foolish the Europeans are feeling for being duped into such nonsense.

How do you figure? The fact that there was a record turnout by the black community for Obama isn't a racist statement. It's a matter of public record. The fact that without a black candidate, the reasonable expectation would be for the black community to go back to historic averages in both turnout and vote isn't racist, either. You lefties are so anxious to play the race card that you don't even think before you do. You just slap it down every time you hear the word "black".

Maybe it will help if you point out where you pointing out demographics has supposedly turned into others playing the "race card". I've seen a discussion that has expanded on your fact. It really seems like you're using "race card" for anyone even mentioning race...even responding to your post which went specifically to talk about the african american vote.

1. Thank "sequester", which democrats did nothing but badmouth.
2. The budget is not going to be cut in half in any span of time because there's no "less spending" going on.
3. If your "budget" is twice as much as you actually earn, don't get all excited because you only spent 90% of your "budget" and think you're getting rich because of that.

You obviously weren't following. I pointed out that the black vote won't be so strong in 2016 and got accused of making a "racist" remark because of that. Pundits WILL be talking about that as 2016 approaches and it's not "racist". It's just demographics and statistics.
