University Tells Student to Remove Cross Necklace

And some would have us believe the selective tolerance by liberals is a myth_

Could you expand on this a bit? I'm not sure where you were going with this and what you are believing my beliefs to be.

As do I Jerry, although big government is usurping more and more of those rights everyday_

But most universities are subsidized by government these days, which is suppose be constitutionally intolerant of such religious discrimination and persecution_

As far as I can tell, Islam has been received exceptionally well in the United States_

Especially considering the world-wide rape, assault, oppression, murder and destruction committed in its name_

ie; They were simply taking advantage of an opportunity to punish their perceived enemy; a Christian!

But, I wonder what would happen if a pro-life home-owner complained about a black worker in their home because they assumed he was most likely a democrat and therefore pro-choice?!

I'm afraid I have no response to such an amazing well thought out argument_:surrender ..........:giggle1:

Correct; but only because I'm not a member of the Christian Faith nor any other for that matter_

For what its worth, I don't have a dog in this fight PoRob; I'm simply pointing out the obvious_

And some would have us believe the selective tolerance by liberals is a myth_

Most countries worldwide subsidize their education systems to some degree. Those that don't will end up being erased from the map............................

I have seen enough examples of how believers use totally irrational views to justify their choices on getting a pound of flesh.

The point is that hiring a lawyer is not turning the other cheek....especially when multiple apologies were issued. That is not forgiving.
The Christian Bible says that "an eye for an eye" is also a justified course of action sometimes_

I would imagine a good Christian knows when it's appropriate to turn the other cheek and when it's appropriate to demand an the eye for an eye_

IMO the Christians are well aware that the apology by those who hate them is insincere and meaningless and it's only a matter of time before a similar incident occurs again, either here or somewhere else_

Perhaps the Christians believe that plucking enough of their enemies eyes out will teach them a lesson which they don't seem to be learning from turning the other cheek_

I already covered that:

Getting your eye for an eye is reverting back to the OT, that is the wonderful thing about christanism, you can rationalize nearly everything with the canon.

She didn't lose an eye, she got her apologies, but I know those who hold to irrational beliefs love to think they know the mind of dog....er....goddess....er.....spaghetti.....er....copper plates....um.....Baal.....er....

PS....what evidence is there of "hate" in this incident?

Do Christians get turned on by those cheesy passages where so and so "knew" or "went into" some ho ?.......Just wondering..................

Could you expand on this a bit? I'm not sure where you were going with this and what you are believing my beliefs to be.
I was agreeing with you by providing my take on the related liberal policy of "selective tolerance"_

ie; don't worry, we're on the same page_____I think?!

"turned on" ??? Are you seriously asking if Christians get sexually aroused reading bible passages?

Such irrational hatred as this has totally destroyed your credibility pertaining to sensible discussion!

Seriously dude, can such words as these be motivated by anything other than hate?!

PS....what evidence is there of "hate" in this incident?
Occam's razor__I thought I made that quite clear several posts back Gimme!

Although I suppose the long history of far-left attacks on Christianity was a dead giveaway as well_

I GET turned oN by SeXy AvAtArS with dElUsIoNaL p0sts.

Um, disbelief mixed with humor....and a lot of pity.

Not Occam, but jumping to conclusions.

And I hate to break it to you, but this wasn't an "attack". As I said, people with irrational beliefs often come to delusional conclusions.

Hatred would be displayed by lynching or burning someone at the stake......or shooting someone at an abortion clinic.

Besides, you brought up getting an eye, a pound of flesh....

Christians in this nation are NOT victims either. Plot out how many of our political leaders do not declare themselves Christian. Christians have had their way and still get their way almost all the freegin' time. Anyone whining that they are victims of anything in this country is beyond laughable.

In a country that is overwhelmingly right of center, far left attacks are more useless than far right attacks. If you think hearing something they don't like means Christians are under attack, everyone everywhere s constantly under attack. As a Christian myself, i can state with certainty that the claim we are under attacks pure nonsense.

Based on this, I believe we are. Between the wording and the lack of visual/audio cue, I just wasn't sure, which is why I asked for the expansion upon your comment.

Yea, there's really alot of lynchings and stake burnings and clinic shootings goin on these days, huh Gimme?!

In reality, the very few abortion clinic shootings that did occur were publicly condemned by the great majority of the Christian community for committing such violence in the name of their faith_

Your irrational hate has caused you to believe these isolated acts of violence of being common place_

This is a far-left tactic, utilized to influence public opinion_(which only works on the weak of mind...hint)

Seriously??? Christians have "had their way"???

It appears to me that Christians have rarely had their way for the past few decades_

The Marx inspired far-left hatred of religion has been very successful in that area_

Your denial of the far-left's relentless war on religion indicates your politics takes precedence over your faith_

Sorry Boo, but it's quite obvious that you don't take your Christian Faith very seriously_

Oh please, spare us. The far left is too few and too powerless to do much of anything.

As for my faith, you know next nothing about, but I'm secure enough in it not to see threats around every corner. Being paranoid and over sensitive is not a sign of strength nor faith. If your faith is so weak you get upset hearing the opinions of those who don't share your beliefs, well, you lack faith. This is what is happening with Christians today. They lack faith, and thus whine about how they are pick on instead of actually doing what their faith calls them to do. Gods work isn't about how many gays we can bash or liberals we can demagogue, but to feed the hungry, shelter the poor, and show God's love in ourselves. Do more of that, and people will flock to your doors. Keep up the pity party, and it will become clear there is nothing there to join.

Were we discussion the number of times a thing happens or whether it happens? You posted a extremely minor, tiny, rare occurrence......and called it HATE!!!!

You have jumped to an unsupported conclusion. this was not an example of hate, I gave you examples of acts of hatred.

It got you wound up. You recognized that these were examples of hatred carried out by believers.

Your irrational hate has caused you to believe these isolated acts of violence of being common place_

LOL....you got yourself into such a frenzy when REAL examples of HATRED by believers were presented....that you thought you could read my mind and imagined I thought they were "common" now. I didn't, that is your JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS AGAIN.

Breathe.

I posted a tiny occurrence that is anything but rare or minor_

This is but one of many attacks on Christianity that has been occurring regularly and for quite some time_

And if you seriously don't know this then you are far too uninformed to participate in this discussion_

I suppose this is the case for most people who get their news exclusively from source's such as MSNBC_

If I posted examples of persecution by your standards, I could include Romans feeding Christians to lions in the colosseum_

But such historical extremes aren't necessary with so many modern day examples still occurring regularly_

such a passionate cry from someone who claims not to have a dog in the fight. I guess you're just their white in shining armor.

yes. Christians pretty much own this country. no amount of crying victim is going to change this fact.

Would you prefer more input from atheists? How would they do things differently?

How do you distinguish 'the left' from 'the far left'?

Assuming there's a spectrum, the farthest from the center. BTW, this was her term.

It's the same why Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, The Hindu Festival of Lights, and Ramadan can be plastered all over university walls but no Merry Christmas, that must be replaced with Happy Holidays.
I'm curious to see an example of a University that celebrated other religious holidays except for Christmas. I can see if the University in question be a private one such as Islamic or Hindu owned, but you could also see a Catholic University not wishing to display one on Ramadan too. Can you provide a news story please?
