Defense of the nation does not require offense against our privacy. Unless you buy this "terrorism is a new paradigm" nonsense.

USA USA USA
Obama is the most brilliantest, bestest president evah!
He does almost everything to perfection, to question him is to admit insanity.
Just like GWB! Such amazing people they are.
Side note: hmm, what country should I move to?
Reality: everywhere sucks
Alternate reality: the USA is truly going to become a hell-pit the likes of which has never been seen. Perhaps I should just take a temporary down-grade and evacuate?

I'm sure there are many good individuals within the Borg, but they are very much intimidated by the prosecution of Manning, Drake, Snowden and a few others.
And our leader Da Prez, states catagorically it is OK, this is what all other governments are doing. Bill Press the liberal said on his morning show we should then simply torch the Constitution.
Think if Trump get elected how much resistance he will face with in all phases of our country from people to military to politicians. He must not win.
I follow this Snowden story quite extensively. I have sort of collected what I felt were all the pertinent stories and articles and placed them all on one .html page.
Merits aside, the US did not *tap* 500,000,000 individual phone calls, emails, and text messages in Germany. That's about 120,000k per second. The terrorism watchlist has about 100,000,000 members on it. It's conceivable that a modern data centre could check a few parameters about the connections with a few parameters on the terrorism watch list, but only a few. And it would still be a pretty sizable achievement to acquire and store that much data.
There are a lot of other people on the internet who gather much more information than the US government.
