To cheers, same-sex marriages resume in California [W:381]

I will always stand in awe at APDST.

Taking the most rediculous positions, getting annihilated and just continuing to dig himself deeper and deeper.

Rather entertaining eh chaps?

I've noticed he's in good company. There's a handful of similar minded allies that apply their bull**** to everything, desperately clawing at the tiniest morsel of trying to be right about something. A pointless tidbit, semantics, fallacies, they have no standards.

I have an interest in rights, freedom, and liberty. I want them equally.

I don't just sit around either. I am active and canvased for Houston's first openly gay mayor.

ok, warrior, don't get hurt in this fight of yours

i'm quite certain some of your positions directly contradict your claim that you are interested in rights, freedom, and liberty.... like most folks, you are only interested in the ones you like or approve of.... ta hell with the rest.

I love all my liberties.

No one was denied the right to marry. If you are a man, you could marry a woman. And a woman could marry a man. So if you are one of those, you had the right to marry.

This was about changing the definition of marriage. So don't come on here claiming people were being denied their constitutional rights, that's just plain wrong. This was about the left using the judiciary to force a majority of the people to comply with the minority's wishes. The state of California voted to keep marriage the same, and one (gay?) judge was able to overturn the will of the people.
So please, I don't want to hear about the rights, of freedom, or will of the people because you are on the wrong side of every one of those points.

It is about liberty and equality.

If the will of the people was to reimplement slavery I would be against it. To hell with the will of the people.

My liberty is not dependent on the will of the people. Soon enough we will have SSM.

I don't think anyone is claiming that gay marriages will be superior to straight ones. I suspect that gay marriages will have the same troubles that straight marriages have.
Yeah that's what I just said.

i thought they had one in he past.......but i have not lived in Houston since 1986

i'm sure you do love all your liberties...most folks do

the question is, though,... do you love my liberties?

Sure do. My getting gay married doesn't affect your liberty.

under the constitution there are only rights and privileges, there is nothing else, not human rights or civil rights, none of that ever appears in our founding documents.

rights are unalienable

privileges can be given freely, or have strings attached to them by governments.

well it does, you may not be the one doing it, but government does, because wherever gay marriage has been made legal, the government never stops there ,they go on to make more laws, and polices concerning it which fringes on the rights of other people, so its not you ....its government people fear.

I didn't say it did......SSM means exactly nothing to me, it's entirely irrelevant to me... I'm heterosexual, so it's actually kinda icky to me

.. but i still support it.

that's what supporting freedom and liberty is about... it's not just about me and MY liberties.

So we agree then.

on this particular issue, sure.
on other issues where you seek to restrict freedoms and liberties, no, we don't.

i would say that's correct, gay people being married cannot hurt me, however government can, and they have thru avenues like gay marriage.

not sure what you mean by "thru avenues", but i think we agree.

just to think, same sex couples have just let the government deeper into their bedrooms and wallets..... dark rays in the silver lined clouds

We will have to suffer the horror of equality.

governments make laws and polices in its institutions whenever gay marriage has been had legal in a state.

examples, the state brings in homosexual relationships in the the schools

they direct business that they must pay benefits to SS couples, ...however these infringes on the rights of people.

if government would stop applying force to people to get them to do what government demands, you would see less people against gay marriage, but government is not going to stop, they will continue to violate rights of the people.

Ah you gays wanting equality makes us mad. If you didn't want it we might be willing to let you have it. That's just dumb.

That makes no sense gay marriage can't hurt you.

you cannot hurt me at all, however government can and they do, with gay marriage, by making more laws and polices which violate peoples rights, now i am not speaking about allowing gay marriage, i mean the things they do after it becomes legal.

let me explain again, i am not against you marrying.

but government becuase homosexual marriages become legal.... institute polices to teach it to my child in school homosexual relationships are ok ...that an infringe on my rights.

and they have no authority in the constitution to force me to pay benefits to SS couples.

but government does force these things on the people and violate rights.

if government would stop these things...people would be less concerned gays being married.

So you just hate marriage? Well either end it for all or equal for all.
