Democratic lawmaker hits justice as ‘Uncle Thomas’

Conservatives just can't help it: using racist language to claim those who criticize racist attitudes are racist. Freaky.

You do realize you are as bad or worse than any of the conservatives you are complaining about in this regard?

African Americans who leave the liberal plantation are subjected to especially vicious attacks.

plantation? Sounds like they're there against their will Jack .. Is that true or just one more attempt by you to downplay racism in our society and history?

Personally, I don't like calling people names like that, but it hurts many of us to watch a man who benefitted tremendously from the struggles of the John Lewis's of the world to turn around and vote as he did ... it's not hard to understand folks' anger, just as it angered white racists in the south when a white individual fought for the civil rights of black people ... they used to call them race traitors ...

Not so much against their will as against their interest.

So who gets to determine what their interests are? Shouldn't black people do that for themselves?

It is only a silly statement to those who
disagree with the premise---If a black man acts like a white man and does not honor his own people, he is considered to be an Uncle Tom---so, like I said..if it quacks like a duck, it is a duck....It is certainly not the first time that Clarence Thomas has been called an Uncle Tom.....

It's absolutley racist.

In every Context used it's racist and yes ducks quack and fly.

Why the obsession with Anitidae Family of waterfowl ?

What the SCOTUS did yesterday was return power back to the state

Libs made the ridiculous argument that we somehow ine one day warped back to 1965 Selma and States could'nt be trusted.

But youv'e taken it a step further and have justified racist derogatory insults.

Of course they should. But when one does, and comes to a conclusion that breaks with party-line orthodoxy, he/she is subjected to vicious attacks to try to force him/her back in line.

One guy said something stupid. That is hardly a big deal. Trust me, Thomas was nothing more than mildly amused at this. He has much thicker skin...

Joaquin, come on, it's Jack ... cut him some slack ... he didn't mean it ... (Right Jack?)

They're so dumb, aren't they? :doh

Au contraire. They know their own interests better than anyone. That's why the increasing number of high profile African Americans willing to break with liberal orthodoxy is so disturbing to the Dem high command.

you can't have it both ways Jack ... Don't you see how you're insulting black folks with your posts? They should, but they don't? And how do we know if they did? When they agree with you ... pathetic Jack ... and insulting ...

Only the members of the "Perpetually Insulted Club" are insulted.

normally you make more sense than this, but you're entitled to a bad night now and then ... (and throwing in a little French doesn't help mon frère) ...

I realize you're not accustomed to actually analyzing liberal orthodoxy, but I had hoped for more depth from you.

I've disappointed you again Jack, haven't I? People ask me all the time how I'm able to go on after disappointing you ... I don't know how, I just do ...

It's a term used by a black person against another black person, I don't see that as being racist because it doesn't denigrate the whole race. But I think it's up his constituents to determine if it is.

Yea right, go call the first Black man you see in public a. Uncle Tom". See what happens.

And no, its not up to his constituents to determine anything.

That's how we elect scum-bag Politicians like Jesse Jackson Jr and Anthony Wiener.

An elected position isn't indicative of a higher moral center, in fact it's indicative of the opposite.

Does that go for Senator David Vitter (R,LA) as well?

I know that you'll end up rejecting my wisdom again (at your expense of course), but it's not a racist term ... but it is pejorative and meant to hurt and to hurt deeply, although Thomas would be unfazed by it ... I don't like labeling people in this way, but what the term conveys is absolutely applicable in Thomas's case ... appointing Thomas to the Court was a master stroke by Daddy Bush -- a black man that would be party to racist policies and decisions against blacks and because he was probably the least qualified judge ever to be appointed to the Court, it struck a blow against affirmative action at the same time -- but consider the irony ... he was truly appointed because he was a black conservative, but is opposed to affirmative action (ALTHOUGH he was not an affirmative action appointee because affirmative action requires that you be qualified, and he clearly was not). Hope this helps Fenton.

Huh??? It denigrates the man because of his race! Do you think that calling a Black woman a nigger is okay because it didn't "denigrate the whole race"? It's up to his constituents rather than ordinary people to judge?

Liberals will almost always justify racism in order to defend their fellow leftists. The only ones they will not defend are those who dare leave their camp.
