You must have not spent any time in the ghetto.

Social programs create entire neighborhoods of dependency.

Food Stamps, Welfare, Staying pregnant so they can keep getting paid.

Thus my obligatory condemnation of White supremacy will now be in every post, lest I be accused of supporting it because I didn't mention it specifically every time I post.

Subjective indeed. GDP does not paint a picture of what the economy inside the country is like. It's about as relevant as saying Wal-Mart is making record profits in a recession. The poverty of the 1900s make the current recession seem like 1995.

Sorry, my friend, I have lived in the ghetto...Neighborhoods are formed by how much you can pay in rent, so poor people land up living in poor neighborhoods...Staying pregnant to get welfare is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and is a concept that dates back to the 60s...For every 1 woman who is satisfied with living on peanuts, there are 30 struggling to get out of poverty...

You should know that records of working people were not as thorough now as they were then but, in any case, during that payer the US had two recessions, one for 23 months and one for 13 months. That would suggest that there was prosperity for 70% of the time.

How does that compare with Obama?

Looks like it will prevent possible voter fraud. That's a good thing.

All those actions were taken by the Democrats. It's as much of their history as Robert Byrd, the one man who most typifies the history of the Democratic Party

Then I guess Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond must typify the Republicans.

I think the point was that during the civil rights years the South was controlled by Democrats on almost every level of government from the Governor on down. That makes it difficult to shift blame for the trouble in the south to the republicans and their policies.
