Seriously? This is your response? Good God! Most people do not have background checks done on a regular basis. There would be NO way to know if someone was using your ID to vote anyway. It does NOT show up on a credit check or a criminal background check.

I would have to be a resident of another state to vote in that state. That is easy to check.

Not if you used a dead person's identification. And just ONE phony vote is one too many. Voting is one of the most important powers that we have. If we allow it to be abused, then we are making all of votes less powerful.

Dead people voting is not a problem. 300k out of 300 million is small. That is just the dead on the rolls yet to be purged.

Were there even 100 votes by dead people nationwide in the last election? It is a made up problem.

It most certainly is a problem. If every vote counts, then that makes it a significant problem, regardless of whether it makes up a large percentage of the population or not.

Oh so .00000001% voter fraud is a huge problem and we should change our election system.

I would rather fix a real problem.

The report found that there are about 1.8 million dead people listed as active voters. Some 2.8 million people have active registrations in more than one state. And 12 million registrations have errors serious enough to make it unlikely that mailings based on them will reach voters.

    This is just in Chicago.

Requiring a form of voter ID is NOT changing the system. It's simply requiring a form of identification to avoid potential voter fraud.

    That is changing the system.

It ads cost and time issues.

So making so a million people or more can't vote to keep a hundred or less from voting is self defeating in an honest election.

That is absolutely untrue. No one would be prevented from voting. People are SUPPOSED to have identification anyway.

Voter fraud is MUCH more costly in the long run.
