13 million citizens do not have documentary proof of their citizenship.
and we have 11 million illegals(give or take two million) in this country, imagine that?

Poll taxes are unconstitutional. Buying-beer-taxes are not.

I think youre going outside of the spirit and literal meaning of that amendment. A poll tax is a literal tax the excercise of voting. Whereas this is a legal requirement to vote, no different than any other regulation. However, I have no issue with attaching a photo to the free voter registration card thats alredy handed out.

Exactly, it's a barrier to voting, which makes it unconstitutional.

No, not a poll tax and for several reasons, chief among them the ID is required for many other things in this life. Not to mention, every state I know of offers them free to indigents.

What is troublesome about this decision is that SCOTUS found that the application has wording that covers the citizenship question. If you check a box and read the disclaimer that if you are falsifying the application you can be prosecuted. Well BIG WUP! Do you think an illegal trying to register would fill out the form without lying??? It is logical to request and/or require PROOF!!!
