I just checked the Missouri's registration application by mail. I've never voted out of Missouri so was unfamiliar with its requirements.

A couple of check boxes asking if you are a US citizen, place of birth which is (optional), social security number which you can leave blank, drivers license number which you can also leave blank. Then a place to sign where you agree that you are a US citizen.

No where do I see any "proof" of citizenship requirement.

Honestly, am I missing something? or does it appear you only have to sign it stating that you are a US citizen?

How is citizenship confirmed? I don't know.

But I'm sure its done. Otherwise we would have millions of tourists every year flooding to the USA in November voting in our elections.

The only possible proof of citizenship is a birth certificate or a naturalization document.

Do you think we are that stupid?

We just register ANYONE who signs up and let them vote?

I have a little more respect for the United States than that.

How do we know the applicant is a U.S. citizen? [Hint: We don't.]

Application doesn't guaruntee the ability to vote.

Absentee ballots don't guaruntee the vote will be counted.

What do you mean? Are you still claiming that the applicant's citizenship status is checked? It isn't, because in the absence of paper evidence it can't be.

How if you're not checking IDs?

How do you possibly know to prevent them from doing so?

Furthermore, as an aside, my daughter can vote twice in Chicago if she wants to. Once, at her actual precinct and, again, at mine. She gets renewal voter cards at my address every year, even though our house hasn't been her legal domicile since 2001.
