A victory for the morning-after pill [W:107:233]

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Well, they obviously weren't very effective in preventing their daughter from spreading her legs, why would you think they'd be any "help" at this point ?...............................

"Screw it" right ? In more ways than one !!!

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Some evenings your "points" are more irrelevant than others. This is one of those. Good evening bonz...

Good evening............................I see your avoidance of reality as just a minor flaw.........................

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

We don't have to treat Plan B as we do vaccines because there is more than one alternative.

I never claimed we had to treat it the same. In fact I asked how vaccinations are treated because I was not sure.

Hatuey jumped to wild conclusions.

Good evening............................I see your avoidance of reality as just a minor flaw.........................

Would you let a child of yours make his/her own decisions as to what medication is appropriate for any circumstance?

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Actually, it's not up to kid either, it's up to their body ie hormones, genetic predisposition etc. Sexual activity is not something which you really choose to want to have anymore than you can pick and choose which gender you'll be attracted to. It simply kicks off, and then it's up to the person to decide whether they'll act on it or not. The only way you'll keep your kids from sexual activity if they really want to act on sexual attraction is by keeping them locked in their room 24/7. And even then, there is always masturbation which you'll have to pretty much "beat" (I like puns) out of them if you don't want them doing it.

Check your English. I submit that one is not "sexually active" until they "act" on it, that is, to "choose" to copulate. Masturbation requires no pill of any sort, and is a red-herring.

I also submit that many responsible kids, and their parents, do feel the urge of hormones, but know that self-discipline is also a factor.

You have otherwise outlined an "if it feels good, do it" behavior. For shame.

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

"Screw it" right ? In more ways than one !!!

Or your solution: We all have "parental" responsibilities.....................I say no thanks to your Borg collective..............................

So the responsible family unit is now the "Borg".

In all truthiness, that is really ****ing stupid.

You can't read , But I'll give you a passing grade anyways because I don't care..........................

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Actually, "sexually active" starts from the minute a guy get a stiffy or a girl decides to touch herself to see how it feels. Again, not something which you can really choose. Sexual activity is what happens when you act of those thoughts.

Masturbation requires no pill of any sort, and is a red-herring.

You really should check what that means. Masturbation is sexual activity performed by somebody who is sexually active. Which again, you won't stop.

I also submit that many responsible kids, and their parents, do feel the urge of hormones, but know that self-discipline is also a factor.

Sexual responsibility is not decided by how hard a person represses their sexual desires but how they decide to act on them. A person who doesn't act on them is just as responsible as somebody who has safe sex.

You have otherwise outlined an "if it feels good, do it" behavior. For shame.

No, I really haven't. You're just so caught up in repressing your sexuality, and that of your own children, that you can't really see what you're doing.

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Let us rejoice that kids can acquire the MAP without going through their parents.

What a "victory" ............

again hyperbole much? its about FDA being allowed to do their job. thanks

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

do you have a source to verify that? was studies done to show their is no harm to the fetus

plan B only has progesterone in it.
How do I know it will not harm the fetus?

Doctors give women who have high chance of miscarriages or IVF progesterone to help keep the women from miscarrying.

Progesterone does not harm a fetus.

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Who decides the "sexually active ages" ? Or is that up to the kid ............ err "woman" ?

access to this pill certainly doesnt decided it

the person themselves do

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

And a gazillion young girls who are going to think that sex is no big deal.

I am curious, any idea what the price range is for the morning after pill?

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

?..

Plan B prevents implantation, not ovulation. Only the birth control pill can prevent ovulation.
Please read the studies again ..
It prevents ovulation.

$10-$70 depending on location and plan.

ARC is running away from his attempt to make a ridiculous comparison and now can't own up to his false dichotomy.

However, just because I know you're too pumped up on your ego to admit your nonsensical comparison here you are in a thread discussing how parents treat vaccines:

----------

All of a sudden, you no longer know and it's a legitimate question. Carry on with the purposeful obtuseness then.

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

the person themselves do

The kids themselves do. On their own. Making mature decisions.

Sure makes the boyfriends happy ! So now a 16 year old boy can buy MAP's too !! For his 13 year old GF !!

"I love you baby" ................

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

No idea, but it's a synthetic hormone/combo (depending on the specific preparation), so I'm guessing it's not cheap.

Hey, its your "victory" for a pill.

Stupidity much ?

i didnt call them mature decisions, do you ever not use straw men and hyperbole

but the fact is the person themselves make that decision, i guess when one is simply based on emotions and not any facts or logic it all you have

all your examples are nonsensical and inane

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Hey, its your "victory" for a pill.

Stupidity much ?

its a victory for how the FDA is supposed to do its job

as far as stupidity? yes your posts are just that since you are making stuff up

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

The Morning-After Pill - Emergency Contraception - Cost & Info

Costs vary from $10 to $70 for the morning-after pill and $500 to $900 for IUD insertion

They're relatively cheap. A $25 morning after pill will do the trick 9/10 times. Either way, if you don't have $70 of disposable income for a morning after pill, you probably have bigger problems in your life that won't get any better by getting pregnant.

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

$10-$70 depending on location and plan.

Since plan b will be over the counter the cost will be out of pocket.
Currently they say it will be about $50 .

Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

ARC is running away from his attempt to make a ridiculous comparison and now can't own up to his false dichotomy.

ridiculous comparison?

they both involve medicine.

they both can have major impacts on a person's life.

they are both childen/parent rights issues.

i'll add another example that I see as quite similar, the issue of parents views on chemo therapy when they override the child's.

What you seemed to not understand, is I was asking actual questions and openly wondering how I see this issue. No false dichotomy existed. you just jumped in wanting to score stupid points for your oversized ego and jumped to conclusions as a result.

I'm not so sure it would go down in cost without insurance. I could be wrong on that though.
