Re: A victory for the morning-after pill

Huzzah! Now, waiting for the inevitable class action lawsuits against the manufacturers and the FDA when the side effects get to the minority of users.

Not to mention this is a serious overreach on the FDA's part. Not their call to make at all.

in this context, fair = a reportable amount. (hundreds die a year from overdose)

2.) im not sure either but i would never compare getting a shot of vaccine to aspirin/plan b.
I would never compare aspirin with plan b.

Few parents take a stance against over the counter pain killers. Many take a conflicting stance on issues such as vaccinations, and teen pregnancy. This is a real issue involving parental responsibility. comparing it to aspirin is just an attempt to ignore this reality.

    1. Good news.

    2. It's funny how some people act like this decision is going to all of sudden change how the world thinks about sex. It's not. Kids who are having sex are going to continue. And kids who are not will continue to refrain.

    1.)and who are these 100s
not doubting you at all just trying to get insight on why the FDA doest consider it.

infants? people not following rules, people double dosing or mixing with other stuff
    why did they die

    etc etc

im "guessing" if you research that stuff youll find the answer

2.) why? FDA is only about safety effectiveness etc. I see no reason not to classify them as the same from the studies i seen.

3.) parents opinions dont concern me with FDA decisions, nor do they matter.

4.) like i said early millions of people feel this is responsible, not saying they are right and you are wrong im saying you both have opinions and ones that are meaningless to the FDA and their job.

5.) or its doing exactly what the FDA is supposed to do.

Yeah, that's the shame of it all. Historically, it's been women who were the nurturers and took commitments seriously. It's the glue that holds societies together.

False dichotomy. Vaccinations do not have anywhere near the life changing impact on lives as being pregnant does. 15 year old kids who don't want to have kids shouldn't be force to anymore who those that don't want to abort should be. Essentially, you're comparing apples and oranges.

then they arent similar at all.

its about classification of the drug, FDA deemed it to be equal to aspirin in classification.

The " Plan B" pill is first, NOT as effective as other methods of contraception, and isn't intended for routine use.

Barbiturates, for example greatly lower the effectivness of the pill, AND it does nothing to stop sexually transmitted diseases.

I think it's a failure for our society, as our ever devolving culture now, with our Presidents help moves towards the normalilasation of what are basivally kids having sex.

Obama, what a "cool dude".....he brought this up to a round of applause but ignored the increase in STDs among teen agers over the last 5 years.

He's a dirt bag are as any Politician that pushes a potentially dangerous drug for political expediency.
