Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181, 607]

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

Yes, that meaningless crap.

Actually, it's not. Your comment just demonstrates that you are uneducated on the topic. Please do some reading before speaking about it so you are more informed.

I have heard the point brought up before. Don't think I don't know where it is leading.

Of course. It's leading to you looking... as you do... like you don't understand the topic. If you'd like, I can explain it to you so you don't make some of the errors that you have made... mostly by omission. I have plenty of information on transsexuality that I would be happy to post.

Dude, fly by night is a better song then this ridulous argument. Do whatever you want, Captain. I don't really care one way or other. It's all **** anyway that really changes nothing.

I suppose I can take that as "I really don't care what information you provide... I will stick with my uninformed position no matter what". Am I getting that right?

I know the information you will provide. It's laughable garbage that you somehow think matters to my point. You really have to stop thinking you actually provide something new to discussions, you don't.

Like I said... "I really don't care what information you provide... I will stick with my uninformed position no matter what" seems to be your mantra, here. And here I always thought you were one to want accuracy, Henrin. I suppose you only want that when it supports whatever it is you believe... a type of confirmation bias.

Yes captain, go ahead and provide your brain argument. I will laugh, you will think it matters, and we will all have a good time.

Did I guess your argument right? Yeah, don't worry about it.

Oh, so you have read the information. That means that instead of being uninformed, you deny reality. Sorry. My mistake.

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

Many of the responses in this thread remind me of one of slogans in the book 1984: IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

Those who insist on referring to or thinking of Kristin as a man do so on the premise that they are standing firm in some truth that the rest of us refuse to accept. They insist that they are the ones with the facts who won't be swayed by "lies" or "political correctness". The problem, however, with their assertions is that they are wrong because they are uninformed, or ignorant - willfully or not. Therefore, they are claiming nothing more than strength in their ignorance. It's odd to watch, but not particularly upsetting as society is quickly moving on without them.

Haha..why didn't you provide it? Don't worry, I will only laugh a little.

There are several. Which would you like to see? The one that discusses the MRI scans of the brains of post-mortum folks who are heterosexual, homosexual, and transgendered, or one of the several that discusses BSTc and the affects of pre-natal hormonal surge?

Whatever dude, I don't care.

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

Nope, he was a man before and he will be a man when he finishes it all up. Nothing will change. The shear denial in on this topic is really bizarre. I'm out.

You are right in that DNA doesn't change and, unless there's something else going on...some rare genital abnormality that mimics the wrong gender...DNA tells the truth. Male or female. It never changes no matter how much hormone therapy has.

It's unfortunate that some of us can't understand that some people just get hardwired differently and can't do a damned thing about it. *shrug*

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

"it"?

Aren't you arguing that she is still a he? Why say "it", why not "he"?

Personally I refer to a transgender person by whichever pronoun he or she prefers to use.

Because I think saying "it" is more polite than if the mathematician in me went with being precise. Mathematicians are good with both precision or abstraction. Again, in this case, I think the latter is better.

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

He's a he. He was born a he and will die a he. No surgery is going to alter his birth or change his genetic code to redefine his biological sex as female. We can get into the ethical thing regarding gender roles and what defines a male and female, but biologically he will remain male forever, there is no changing that.
1. You're conflating sex and gender. By reducing the conversation to sex through limiting the perception of gender to biology, you miss the point. Gender and the way that transgender people refer to themselves moves beyond mere biology.

2. It is inaccurate to say that a male-to-female transgender person "biologically remains male forever." On the contrary, when they begin the process of a sex change and certainly when they complete the process, they have partially - if not mostly, altered their sex. This is true because sex refers not only to unchangeable chromosomes, it also refers to "structural" differences in genitalia, hormones and host of other physical features. Therefore, when a man undergoes a sex change to become a woman, many of the parts of his body that determine his sex become female which means that biologically he does, in great part, become a woman.

Of course you don't. See Henrin, I have no reason to post the information in a debate with you. You have offered up NOTHING that says anything of substance regarding transsexuality (other than from a genetic/DNA standpoint, an individual does not alter their sex, which is correct), AND you have already implied that regardless of what information is posted, you have no intention of hearing it. You will continue to believe that issues such as this are not complex in any way and remain in denial. That's fine. Let me know if you change your mind and actually want to discuss it.

You were doing fine right up to the last line. If you want to be polite to someone else, your opinion on what is polite is irrelevant... demonstrated by the fact that if you called a transgendered person "it" you wouldn't be polite.

That is kind of like saying you admit your point has no bearing on mine and yet somehow you still win. whatever.

Thanks for that. I love irony.
You've said the same thing so many times in this thread I'm starting to picture you stamping your feet and waving your arms.

No, it's like saying your point is irrelevant since you have no point and I win by default.

Is it now? Believe what you will, captain.

I never said I did either.

re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

I find it interesting that so many people who have probably never spent any time around transgender people are so adamant and insistant on calling them by pronouns other than the apparently appropriate one.
