Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181, 607]

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

I am taking the issues head on.

You dont like it and bully gays tgirls etc. I cant change your values or lack there of. If you want to make people miserable I cant stop you. I just point out you are a shrinking minority.

You still haven't acknowledged my point that it does in fact affect others.

We are winning the war of ideas. You are losing the war of ideas.
You can be a bully and teach your kids to bully. Your on the losing side so I understand your miffed.

The game never ends, how is someone winnings or losing in the never ending cycle? There is and should be constant human struggle of change vs tradition, it's part of the fabric of most dynamics systems for good reason. In this way new ideas that make it through the gauntlet win, and they are constantly being challenged by traditionalist/status quo, who also wins in every case he new idea loses. Purely winners/losers is way too simplified a way to look at this.

A new idea can destroy a nation, a software program, an experiment, a business, just as quickly as rejecting all change. Also, the more you have, the more likely you are to want to preserve what you have, and the less you have to gamble with changes. Age alone dictates that the youth will gamble on change every time, they have nearly nothing to lose, and nearly everything to gain. Older people nearing retirement with a huge nest egg and life investment, they want to see it through to their pot of gold at the end of that long rainbow, they have everything to lose, and very little to gain from change.

Same goes for competition, the new competitor has nearly nothing to lose, they will innovate like no other. The big market players in the industry today, they only want change they can control.

We can go on with lists like this of very practical real life descriptions of how things work in practice.

The path of greater acceptance and equality for LGBT is clear and advancing fast.

And Webster defines it as Sex Male or Female, so where do we stand now?

Wanna give that another shot? Merriam-Webster defines it as:

1 gen·der noun \ˈjen-dər\

Definition of GENDER

1
a : a subclass within a grammatical class (as noun, pronoun, adjective, or verb) of a language that is partly arbitrary but also partly based on distinguishable characteristics (as shape, social rank, manner of existence, or sex) and that determines agreement with and selection of other words or grammatical forms

b : membership of a word or a grammatical form in such a subclass

c : an inflectional form showing membership in such a subclass

2
a : sex <the feminine gender>
b : the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex

Are you always this blatantly dishonest?

You still haven't acknowledged my point that it does in fact affect others.

People are responsible for their own irrational, emotional reactions. It is not the fault of a person doing what is considered best for them.

Exactly, the argument lacks all logic, and is just an excuse for people to be against something they do not understand.

I was wondering, what restroom is this person supposed to use. If it thinks of its self as a female, wouldn't it just break it's little heart to be told it couldn't use the female facilities. And wouldn't it be alarming to see this goon coming into the men's room wearing a summer dress.

A restroom corresponding to their gender identity without being harassed or questioned.

I imagine some interesting reactions when the ladies hear a stream instead of a tinkle.

I thought they turned his outy into an inny.

You know what bugs me, really? I'm supposed to accept people for who they are, but when it comes to this topic everyone wants me to accept people for who they are not.

Then you have the wrong definition of that phrase. That phrase is talking about who people are on the inside, not the outside. IE how people think and act. You're suppose to look past the physical attributes.

Exactly. Whichever gender they identify with should be the restroom they use.

That is irrational, illogical and wrong. What if someone considers the best thing for them to murder someone?

Murder is breaking the law. Sex reassignment surgery is not.

It will put the lotion on the basket.

Nobody said anything about breaking the law or not, they said that if it is what one considers best for themselves. Slippery slope.

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

MTF transitions 3 to 1 outnumber FTM transition. That means more MTF transitions will be using the ladies room. I think women are more open minded to this than men. If a MTF came in the ladies room, I'd have no problem at all sticking my hand under the stall and asking her for paper.

Redress is talking about SRS. You are talking about murder. The two are not even in the same ballpark. One is against the law. The other is not. You can't compare the two - yet you did. Maybe you feel that SRS is as bad as murder, but it's just not.

I think you are missing my point.

Re: Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out[W:181]

Doesn't matter if I know one or not, doesn't change anything.
It sure does. You are making a statement that gender is defined by the physical presence. Gender is defined by the mind or the mental makeup. A small child say a male who is prepubescent who is more inclined to do the things society has ascribed to the female role has no sexual interest in changing identity but is none the less female in the mind. So how do you determine gender mental or physical? There are two choices. Do you try and push what the brain is saying aside because this person has the wrong genitals. You are basing your thought on the rules society has placed on all of us. Those rules and roles are wrong IMO. There are hundreds of books on the topic of gender being mental. You can start by reading Gender Outlaw. You could also do some reading on Third Gender which tells us about people who feel neither female or male. It would be my suggestion do do some study before making a brash set in stone statement.
