Yes it is. And even more so when one advocates using the state to enforce the denial of rights.
It's reprehensible to support laws against killing innocent human beings? Yeah, that makes sense.
As far as marriage, it's complicated; suffice to say it's not necessarily reprehensible to want the government to be able to deny something that should be a private matter chiefly involved with the freedom of contract, but it is pretty dumb and illogical. Of course, when the two major camps are disagreeing about wanting the government to permit or not permit another type of contract, that means yes, I think both major camps are being pretty dumb.
