The GOP has no plan for tackling minorities in poverty then?

The GOP outreach to black voters...
    1. Talk to all potential black voters like they are all on welfare

    2. tell black voters that they are victims of the other party through the welfare system

    3. Tell black voters to lift themselves out of poverty and using welfare

This country has spent trillions on poverty over the past few decades. Blacks are more dependent upon Government than ever before. The Black Community is in shambles. They are more poor than ever before. Democratic outreach to black voters is to keep telling them they are victims and their problems are all someone else's fault. It's not working.

So what? Give me a list of names and a source. The KKK was started by Democrats. What point are you even trying to make here?

Why should "black people in poverty" be specifically addressed considering there are twice as many poor whites?

Sounds pretty racist, shewolf, but not surprising, sadly.

Do you have any proof of this?

There are more white people in poverty and on welfare. I already pointed that out to Fisher, and I am only talking about racial minorities because Fisher brought it up.

What's your point, then? You made the post. racial politics have no place in the GOP. That's what the democrats are for, and the KKK, their military arm when it was beneficial to hate on blacks.

Thomas Sowell has written extensively on the subject. You can start here:

The Economics and Politics of Race: An International Perspective: Thomas Sowell, Robert Morris: 9781470821036: Amazon.com: Books

If it has no place in the GOP, then why are republicans on this board constantly bringing up race and welfare in the same sentence?

Sowell demonstrates that ethnic groups perform differently, even when they are subjected to a similar hostile social condition, like the chinese, the jews or the blacks in the USA, in the beginning of the 20th century.

The reason? A strong commitment, or not, to such values as hardworking, stable family ties and a firm will of improving their own social fate rather than blaming third ones by that same fate.

Similarly, when the pretense source of damage disappears - for example, in societies where certain ethnic groups are largely the majority and "bias" against them is inexistent -, not only their poor social behavior does not vanish, but, contrarily, worsens in a terrible way...

    Concluding, culture really matters!

I have always operated that race doesn't matter. People are people, and nobody wants to be in poverty. Perhaps the debate shouldn't start with race, but it should start with economic mobility. We want to see that everybody has a chance to move up, and that book is assuming that some races and cultures are too backwards to want to move up and not live in poverty.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. There are many impoverished white people in America. I typically thought that the right wing blamed economic immobility on the government and the welfare system, but blaming it on the culture and biology of minorities is completely new to me. I don't buy it.

I don't think you understand how deep Government dependency has become entrenched in Black Culture. Nor do you understand how the permanent perception of victim status is ruining the black community. Many of their problems are blamed on racism and it's Democrats that carefully stoke both these fires to keep Blacks locked up in emotional chains and dependent upon Big Government.
